Comfrey ni mmea uishio miaka mingi. Una umuhimu kama mboga zenye afya kwa familia, pia malisho bora kwa wanyama wengi. Majani ya mmea huu huweza kutengenezwa mbolea kwa ajili ya bustani. Pia mmea huu hutumika kwa tiba mbalimbali kwa binadamu.

Comfrey ni mmea uliopatikana katika mapori ya milima ya Kaukasus-Urusi. Pengine ndio maana ukapewa jina la kitaalam, Russian Comfrey. Mmea huu ulipelekwa uingereza-ulaya katika karne zilizopita na kutoka Uingereza ulisambazwa Canada, Amerika, Australia, New Zealand na Afrika.

Waingereza ndio walioleta hapa Afrika ya Mashariki. Mmea huu unaweza kuoteshwa sehemu yoyote ile ili mradi kuwepo na msimu wa mvua katika kipindi cha mwaka mzima. Kwa kuwa teknolojia imekua, mmea huu unaweza pia kustawishwa kwenye mabanda maalum maarufu kama greenhouse. Hii ndiyo sababu Comfrey inaweza kupandwa katika kivuli cha upenu wa nyumba au miti.

Pia majani mabichi au yaliyoanikwa unaweza kutumia kwa chai kwa kuongeza asali/ sukari, utaboresha afya yako kwa kinywaji hiki.

Magonjwa mengine yanayoponywa kwa kutumia Comfrey ni jeraha, michubuko na uvimbe wa miguu na mikono. Majani na mizizi ndivyo vinavyotumika kutengeneza dawa.

Comfrey ni malisho muhimu kuwakilisha samaki na wanyama. Ni malisho bora kwa wanyama wenye tumbo moja kama kuku n.k kwa sababu ina nyuzi kidogo zaidi kuliko mimea mingine. Inasaidia kujenga mifupa. Kwa ng’ombe wa maziwa hutoa maziwa mengi.

Comfrey kwa mbolea (hupata potashi kufunika udongo kwa majani ya Comfrey (Mulching) hasa kwa nyanya na viazi.

Ni vizuri zile sehemu ambazo unastawi wananchi wakachangamkia na kuupanda ili kupata faida zake.
