You gave got it all wrong. The whole world knows how some Libyans were coaxed to betray their leader. It happened in Congo with the assassination of Lumumba, repeated in Congo Brazzavile with Ngouabi's demise, in Burkina Fasso with the death of Sankara. The counter-revolutionary in Africa has always been at the service of external politico-economic interests rather than genuine national concerns.
The west can only do so much. Revolutions only happen where leaders have overstayed or where freedoms are non-existent.
Assassinations have nothing to do with democracy or lack of it. Even J.F. Kennedy was assassinated and America continued.
In a country where there are democratic structures, assassination of a president will not mean the end of the country.
And you take me back to my previous point. Democracy safeguards wealth, freedoms, peace, continuity etc.
If Magufuli woke up today and decided to rule forever, he might accomplish many things, but in 2040 Tanzanians will revolt and burn it all to the ground.
