President William Ruto nominates first batch of CSs- comprising of 11 names, to be vetted by the National Assembly for confirmation

Kindiki, Duale, Chirchir Make Comeback As President Ruto Nominates 11 Cabinet Secretaries
President William Ruto has nominated the first batch of Cabinet Secretaries to replace those fired in a landmark announcement on July 11, 2024 following weeks of youth-led anti-government protests.
The Head of State, in a press address at State House on Friday, said the 11 nominations – including Attorney General - followed consultations across the political divide in an attempt to bring back peace and sanity to the country.
The list, however, also contained six fired CSs, who now make a comeback in different ministries, with only Prof. Kithure Kindiki retaining his former position.

Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development - Alice Wahome

Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development - Dr. Andrew Mwihia Karanja
Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry – Roselinda Soipan Tuiya
Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation - Eric Muriithi Muuga
Ministry of Roads and Transport - Davis Chirchir
Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy - Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u

“I am continuing to undertake consultations across the political divide on the balance of Cabinet that I will appoint shortly. The consultations are at an advanced stage and internal processes in various sectors are underway to facilitate my appointment of the balance of this Cabinet,” said the President.
“Additionally,. I will be issuing next week a clear roadmap on the assignment that the new Cabinet is going to have, with clear timelines and deliverables to harness the tremendous potential that exists in our nation and drive our country to greatness.”
