Kampuni kama Barrick, huwa zina Director wa Kampuni, anayeitwa Councellor, ambaye kazi yake ni ku-manouver wanasiasa na viongozi wa UNIONS, wakati wakusaini mikataba, na hao wakuu huwa ni wazoefu sana wa Afrika, ingawa wako Europe, tena siku hizi huwatumia wa-South Afrika kwenye ishu kama hizi, na sisi huwa hatujui kitu tunasaini tu baadaye tunakutwa na kilio tunaanza kuwatupia mawe wazungu, kumbe ni matatizo yetu wenyewe, hakuna kampuni yoyote ya kigeni inayoweza kumnyanyasa mtu US au Europe kwa ujumla maana UNIONS huko huwa hawachezi, tujifunze kutoka UNIONS za huko majuu! !
Nakubaliana nawe kidogo kwenye kwenye hili la kuwa, tatizo liko upande wetu. Lakini si kwamba umlaumu mfanyakazi aliye-sign contract, kwasababu yeye hana choice. Tatizo liko upande wetu sisi na sheria zetu za kazi. I am not very keen na sheria za kazi Tanzania, lakini I know enough to believe kuwa sheria zetu za kazi inabidi zifanyiwe marekebsho. Sheria zetu za enzi zile zilikuwa hazitubani sana kwasababu makampuni mengi yalikuwa ya serikali, na unajua baba/mama hawezi kumnyanyasa mwanawe, somehow employees got away with that. Siku hizi tuan multi-nationals companies zinaingia, mambo mengi yamebadilika hivyo sheria pia zinabadilika. Sheria zetu za kazi nadhani ziko legelege, na hao (akina Barrick & co) wanaweka terms zitakao-wabenefit wao. Labda swali muhimu ni kujiuliza, hivi kati ya sisi wazalendo pale nchini na hizi multi-national companies, who needs the other more? How much does Tanzania need foreign companies, and how much do foreign corporations need to operate in Tanzania? Ukweli ni kuwa wanatutaka zaidi ndio maana wako Tanzania, then why not work so we can set the rules?
Mwaka jana, China walifanya revolution moja, ambayo nadhani hata sisi tunaweza kutumia hii approach. Walikuja na sheria ambayo nadhani imekuwa in place May of 2007.
