Wakenya huzungumza Lugha ipi kwa ufasaha??

Wakenya huzungumza Lugha ipi kwa ufasaha??

Truly it breaks my heart to be in the same boat with Kenya. The country whose chief Justice and President explicitly acknowledged the vicious banditry rooted deep in their genealogy.

It's honestly absurd when you take a second and think about it; Tanzania isn't as corrupt as Kenya and has far much resources, vast fertile land, strategic port and a larger population, how comes it always plays second fiddle to Kenya in matters economy? considering the amount of corruption in kenya, large arid land, terrorist threats which almost killed the tourism industry & no natural resources to write home about, how comes a country with little corruption has failed to overtake us and become the economic giant it's supposed to be?
If for a second you think you are fairing better than Kenya in grand corruption, you are lying to yourself, Tanzania deserves to be as developed as SA, but with it's lethargic population, it'll always be a playing field for CCM and it's cronies, and the sad thing is Tanzanians think they have the greatest leader of this century, they have been duped for so long that they can't voice their dissent to the ruling party fearing demos will disrupt their illusion of peace.

on behalf of all Kenyans let me take this opportunity to say sorry for whatever we did to make y'all (Danganyikans) think we give a s.h.i.t about your love relationship with Kiswahili.

Word. When was the last time you heard anyone speak swa sanifu other than news presenters? We simply don't care, some do, but a majority don't. if it ain't adding anything on my plate then to hell with it, that's the mindset.

Man,... spare me those political jargon, they make me wanna puke!!!![emoji36][emoji36][emoji36][emoji36]

swali ni la kipuuzi just as much as your response ("Hiyo nchi haieleweki ni yenye kutumia lugha gani"). Do not insult others expecting to be treated differently. If you were trying to be funny, sorry your sense of humor is wanting. Y'all act and behave as though those who can't speak kiswahili the way y'all do will die of a million tick bites on their balls. sorry but that's stupid reasoning. I speak fluent Sheng' and English, and super proud of it. I can't speak Tanzanian Swa even if I tried. Belittling me for that reason will be met by the exact force and contempt it deserves.

Acha uchochezi we husikii matokeo yakitangazwa wanakwambia ufaulu umeongezeka?

Nina ndoto ,,,,,,,siku moja, SIMA na MAKANDE , DODOMA na NAIROBI, KICHAGGA na KIJALUO itakuwa moja , it is just a matter of time!

You take those writings seriously really? Haya ni maandishi kutoka kwa watu wa jamii ya wakamba. They always "kambanize" swahili and English words like that, mostly for laughs, and that behaviour isnt peculiar only to them. Many other tribes in Kenya and indeed around the world do that.

Regarding your question which particular language are Kenyans most fluent in- Kenya is a multilingual nation. Not all Kenyans can be perfectly fluent in all the languages being used here. There are Kenyans who speak Swahili really well, others are more inclined to English, the majority speak their mother tongues better.
Most Kenyans however speak more than 3-4 languages, with English and Kiswahili being key. Sheng is popular among the urban youth, but just like Kiswahili and English, it is another language that unites Kenyans from different ethnic backgrounds, though the older generation frowns upon it.

So as a foreigner, and in this regard a Tanzanian, u need not worry how you'd converse with the pipo in the streets in Kenya. Almost every Kenyan understands and speaks your Swahili, though may not match your standards, which we have to admit is really good (tho' Kenyans may face trouble understanding your accent. You Tanzanians speak quite fast).

Ie, when I was at a place called Rongai, certain Tz men came up to me, asking for direction, "je, weye unaanshuku?" (what I heard) I looked at them puzzled. They then must have decided I am such a moron, so they turned to the lady who was walking behind me "halo, mimi nataka kuuliza, ya kuwa weye unaanshuku?' She was completely at a loss, so I approached them and calmly asked them to speak slowly, as we couldnt click what they were saying. Why the heck would we be "suspicious" of them? That is when the other guy told me "sisi tunataka kujua, tunatafuta hapa ma'ali panaitwa Masai Lodge......" Oh! so their question was "je, unaishi huku?" not "wanishuku?"

So, as Tanzanian, if u want Kenyans to give u a wide berth, just try this kind of Kiswahili on them

What's that man even saying?

monolingual countries are the only ones who speak with perfection in their dialects. Tanzania is no different from any other nation, they have not achieved any perfection otherwise they wouldn't be stumped by the swahili dialect spoken in kenya. What Tanzania has done is introduce an element of intonation making their dialect flowery. If kiswahili perfection was a Tanzanian mainstay, why do they lose to kenyans when it comes to real written tests?

Most Kenyans are honestly not fluent completely in any language. Especially young people, our mother tongue is terrible, English is a little bit easy for us because we use it almost everywhere, Kiswahili is kind of the informal language but still it is not even remotely sanifu (except our coast brothers) they are really fluent.
Though I love the situation, it allows free thinking hence the beautiful language (sheng).

True, we gave our post TZ to translate a paper to Swahili and it was terrible. We had to re-do the whole thing, they don't even strive to think, it was full of direct translations, funny sentences.
I am thankful for my 12 years of studying swa in school, though I may get stuck when talking Swahili sanifu, I am probably better than most of them in writing. In school we just wanted that A.

Hawa zaidi ya kugha zao za kikabila, hakuna hata lugha moja wanayoongea kiufanisi, wezi wazushi tu, nyang'au kabisa..
