At least five people were feared dead after a series of blasts ripped through Landhies Road near the Country Bus Station in Nairobi Saturday.

More than 15 others were rushed to hospital suffering injuries following the blasts suspected to have been caused by grenades.

Police said that the four explosives were thrown out of a moving vehicle over a stretch of about 100 meters.

The blasts caused a scare with those who escaped unhurt scampering for cover as police and emergency services including the Kenya Red Cross rushed to the scene.

The incident is the third to rock the city centre since Kenya crossed the Somalia border in pursuit of the Al-Shabaab militia in October last year

Wakenya wanayokazi kubwa kuwasambaratisha hawa jamaa wa al shaabab

Wakenya ondoeni majeshi yenu huko Somalia haraka iwezekanavyo.

RIP to all those innocent people who lost their lives today at Machakos Country Bus Station.

its sad, this guys are trying to blur the focus of the defence forces with hit and run tactics. It aint putting pride or as u say 'boasting on kenyan side.' its a reality that only Kenya or possibly Ethiopia has the necessary enablers and geographical position to deal with this terror cells with absolute finality. Kenya is upto the task despite the challenges.
Anyway, these security lapses are becoming a nuinsance to the administration and if am not wrong the massive force projection on part of east leigh might be reactivated. I hope the gallant soldiers wont be blurred by these acts of cowardice and resort to an even harder n higher kill count on alshabaab. Whatever the case, 'alshbaab' are a gone case. this friday Kenya meets with Ethiopia to deliberate on what moves to be accomplished before kenya assumes the amisom jersey....*if i am to go with Ethiopians with these, we are talking about a total force projection that will anihilate any pocket of resistance inside somalia. mark you Ethiopia has just lost some infantry men today' n they got all reason to put in a conclusive battle to these. Kenya will unlikely adapt these doctrine but its safe to say alshabaab is a gone case. Possibly KDF's will use pathfinding element and terminate whatever is considered hostile by air cover and motorised infantry units. These mess ends sooner than you may think. Askari Kanzu dont always deginerate to petty talk, without KDF's action, Kenyas economy would have been on its knees by now. Alshabaab had tainted Kenya as a very unsafe place for tourists. Also lappset wouldnt have taken off. The few current breeches will be adressed promptly.

I cosign that, this is our reality and war is not a child's play. KDF has been a game changer in the whole Somali theater and al shabaab has been wiped out. Pockets of resistance are still with us but they are done! People will call that assertion what they choose in order to score cheap points but history will bear testament.

My heart goes out to the families of the victims of the cowardly attack.

Its not about degenerating into petty talk, as you put it. Apparently, Ethiopia has just announced troops withdrawal from Somalia by the end of April. I guess they (Ethiopians) have a greater foresight than Kenyans (a debile, woebegone people given to sapless boasting).

Somalia: Ethiopia to Withdraw Troops by End of April

Ethiopia, which has deployed hundreds of troops in Somalia to fight Islamist insurgents, will withdraw them by the end of April, the African Union said Friday. Since Ethiopian troops crossed the border in November, they have captured Beledweyne and Baidoa from the Shabab rebels.

Ethiopian officials, mindful of the war that mired their troops in Somalia from 2006 to 2009, have said the incursion would be brief. The Africa Union said the Ethiopians would be replaced by troops from Djibouti, Uganda and Burundi.

MAMMAMIA naona hujanisoma vizuri. For my part, the definition of terrorism and who is a terrorist is far broader than what the powers that be want us to believe.

This is neither the place nor the time to start your xenophobic attacks. Show some respect. I implore every Kenyan not to respond to anyone that attacks our bothers and sisters serving or even those that lost their lives today. Never sink so low as to celebrate death. It is a shame.

reread the above excerpt, the meeting is very on....the Ethiopians were attacked as they were about to handover power to TFG authorities. this implies that they are tied in somalia for some time n yes their presence is not going to fade immediately all the same.

When the time comes, Ethiopia can withdraw from active battle but Kenya can not. too much strategic interests dissuade her from doing so. (dont you get it). Do you reason out why KDF refused to surrender sector 2 and lower juba despite UN with their resolutions trying to fix where KDF should stand? Tz as a nation has no projects to safeguard against external aggression and its forthwith advisable for u to keep your peace where the KDF is involved. These are dedicated service men watching out for this nations interest by their flesh n blood. Respect the service they are offering their country till they are out of harms way. Mark you this service is also benefitting Tanzania's port. Theres no piracy as of now, stop celebrating loss of life in disguise of selfpropagated hate. A peaceful somalia, means a safer and better place for EA.

Kwa nini hawa Ethiopia wamejipeleka kwa mara ya pili huko Somalia? Au ni kwa sababu ya ule mradi wa kutandika bomba la mafuta kutoka Sudan ya Pili/kusini?

I simply don't agree with you. Your misguided nationalism is your own undoing. Anyway, it's a pity that it is the innocent souls that always loose their lives. More often than not, those that instigate wars for their own political agendas, are not the ones that suffer the consequences of their actions, but rather the masses; as it is becoming painfully evident in Kenya.

whats with u and the KDF nexus? if you got strategic interest as a nation to guard against possible external aggressions this shouldnt be rocket science for you, right?
Dont soil the civilian authorities/military uniform with unfounded philosphies. Like all uniforms, military force is the last resort in achieving national objectives. stop belittling the fallen heroes, combat and civilian alike with your tango of words that keep shifting faces every so often as if they are expandable tools.
