Vodacom owns both companies. Your argument lacks logic. Do you kill one of your branches to further another one in another region under completely different regulators??!! If Vodacom dies, Tigo and Airtel stand to win, not Safaricom. What a brilliant plot
Jamani, lets sit and simply think for a minute before posting
Nop, they will no better not to send a juice maker expert to run their telecom companies! Infact other investors will take it as a joke and give Magufuli a thumb up for teaching Vodacom board of directors how to run their affairsNimebadilisha msimamo wangu. Its a win-lose situation. Kenya won't lose anything.
General Tyres Tanzania ilivyohamishiwa Kenya na kuitwa YANA tyres! , dude, we have had enough from you people as a nation, you have said what you have to say, the jury is out on this, lets wait and see.
Kivipi serikali iingilie masuala ya Uongozi ya sekta binafsi? Au Magufuli naye ni shareholder wa Vodacom Mwenye controlling interest?
Milambo Holdings na Vodacom S.A wametulia, Magufuli anaingiaje hapa?
I can see the Tanzanian in you through your stupidity. Congrats. Keep it up! You forgot that JPM is just a lab technician.Nop, they will no better not to send a juice maker expert to run their telecom companies! Normally the subsidiaries are independent legal establishment. For them since are greedy and having an ulterior motives towards our businesses will try to pull down VodaCom Tanzania, showing that it's not performing.
Its not about moving and missing anything, when one takes over it doesn't necessarily mean he closes the enterprise. its about a takeover whereby the 900/= million annual revenue was kept in Tanzania and circulated in Tanzania, but thereafter, the take over will ensure that all net revenues collected are sent to Kenya to further financial circulation in Kenya. Also the takeover will ensure that the greatest number of Kenyans replace the Tanzanian employees in all the top positions, only the low ranking customer care positions might be left for the locals, hence further draining the economy. Hili sio shamba la bibi mje kuchuma then mkajenge kwenu, hatutaki!

Thats not what I meant though. My apologies, just that some of your countrymen's reasoning is very mind boggling and not in a good way.We don't all think that way. Don't generalise pls

Considering it was the South Africans who started the whole enterprise how can there be a problem? You are welcome to come into Tanzania and establisha a Telecommunications enterprise, we will get jobs (even though all high positions will be reserved for Kenyans, this i know) and enjoy all the benefits of a new establishment and all the investment that comes with it, but don't come here to take over and kill what others have built for your own benefit! An when there was a south african it was no problem....

And how will this benefit them (Safaricom) in ANY way? To any 'crime' there is a motive.
Let me tell you this. The Telecom industry is facing an existential crisis already. Voice margins are non existent. Data margins are dropping very fast. The space that is growing is cloud storage and applications. Those who provide that service (cloud/software application e.g facebook, Google, Amazon) are willing to offer internet/data for free. Google and Facebook are already working on how to do that in Africa. That will further push down data prices so the entire Telecom industry is in trouble (ndio maana tunashangaa TTCL inavyoingia voice and data retail at this point of industry maturity instead of focusing on wholesale). Everything is going digital now. Telcos zinabidi zibadili biashara so Vodacom is not the only Telco facing trouble and losing out na ndio maana tuliuziwa mbuzi kwenye gunia tulivyo danganywa tununue hisa

so? Does that make it ohk for Kenyans to run our companies n yet they have a bad track record? Weka Tanzania mbali na Wakenya! It was Vodacom who started the whole enterprise and that includes anyone int the group ndio maana mtoto wa Makamba yuko South Africa at the moment an watanzania wa kampuni kama standard Chartered wako Qatar and Uingereza etc
