That the opposition must go back to their drawing board, reorganize... is an advise that will fall to deaf ears. The facts are, when:

√ some of their elected consellors and MPs defected to the ruling party, leaders of oposition party never took it seriously; and
√ some leaders of opposition parties embezzled party funds, the allegations were kept locked in.

Now that CCM, under Magufuli, is back in power, if he keeps on with the development pace witnessed in his past 5 years' reign, there will be little chance for the opposition to come in power, neither 2025 nor in the near future.

To me the Tanzanian opposition committed suicide in 2015, just that the burrial ceremony was delayed to 2020. Come 2025 with some important ongoing flagship projects starting to pay off, I see zero chance for 'real' opposition to survive.

Take for-instance: The completion of the JNHPP in 2022 with other small H.E.P plants scheduled for completion in 2023 will mean cutting down all bills we pay abroad for fuel imported for power generation. Millions of dollars saved here in should have a very huge impact to our economy and livelihood in general.

In such circumstances, I don't see how this mediocre opposition would survive.
