The physical strength in Nigerian players, any one would have had high regards for them to be the mighty mighty African team. It was painful watching how the defenders were scared of Messi when they played Argentina. They wouldn't tackle him as if he spewed some lethal venom at them if they dared. I do support the Nigerian Gov on this measure.
I don't know what World Cup you've been watching but I think Ghana is the most physical team among the African teams that were/ are in the tournament. Ghana completely outmuscled the United States. They were physically bigger than the US. Actually they are physically bigger than most of the remaining teams and perhaps that partly explains why they are the only African team still standing.
Nigeria this time around was a hot steaming mess. It wasn't the Nigeria of old - the Nigeria of '94 that dazzled the world with the likes of Victor Ikpeba, Rashid Yekini, Uche Okechukwu, Emmanuel Amunike, Jay Jay Okocha, Peter Rufai, Sunday Oliseh, Finidi George, a young Nwankwo Kanu, Samson Siasia, and more. Even the Nigeria of '98 was absolutely superb.

My take - When the President suspends the national football team for poor perfomance, is this accountability at work or politics as usual ?
