my friend...Kenya's GDP per capita is higher than that of Ethiopia and Tz...Yes, goods and services are much cheaper in tz compared to Kenya, making the cost of living lower...However, according to GDP per capita statistics, the average Kenyan is richer than the average tanzanian and earns more money than the average tanzanian...other factors such as inequality contribute to poverty levels since all these wealth is not spread out evenly...GDP per capita data assumes that it is spread equally amongst all citizens of a country...

Another very important point that you are not getting is that the US is richer than China both in GDP terms and in GDP per capita terms...Americans are much more better off than the Chinese...so usione eti it is cheaper to produce goods in China unaona sasa China imeshinda America..hapo utakuwa hauna akili timamu😀😀😀

it is not meaningless...countries with bigger GDPs tend to have richer and more comfortable people..look at America, Australia, France, germany and the UK...with the exception of China, which also has a high GDP, the other countries are very prosperous...

Its not only the GDP alone that matters...look at GDP per capita as well...Nigeria's GDP might be big but its GDP per capita is very low compared to South Africa....
