The loss figure are both from the FY of 2015-16, your just chose what you want to believe. Apparently 2017 report shows even bigger loss from what your claiming, the tune of kshs.10 billion.

Thanks to cost cutting of selling landing rights (which is shame because is not easy to obtain landing rights, look what Kenya did to Emirates). Even selling aircraft, which I'm not sure why airline was hugging dead assets for so long.

The number of aircraft I've shown you is the current one, this is how it stands today. When you count sold and leased aircraft's, that's what I call "cook data."
 
And on the other hand, the vast mineral deposits of DRC (larger than US + EU economies), Venezuelan oil (worlds largest deposits), Mongolia, Chad's uranium etc haven't amounted to anything. Even Russia , despite being one of the most endowed nations is a power in decline, from world domination to emerging economy

And haven't you heard the news lately, why DRC features a lot? Russia is in decline? Haha the country which explore universe like no other, I was hopping you've say China and Japan are declining because of it's shrinking population. But your horizon is 2017, try and push that to 2050 where all internal combustion engines are long gone who will be the king then? I know for sure Kenya won't make the list.
 
KQ does not survive because of Kenyans. Actually most Kenyans shun it because of the ticket prices.
The same way KQ can pull out of TZ and not feel a pinch.
KQ is what it is today because of its wide network and alliances with SkyTeam, which guarantees it passengers that would traditionally not choose it., e.g Britons, French or Germans.
The only alliance ATCL can dream of is with Air Uganda or Mogadishu express.
Remember this, ATCL bought all its aircraft cash, no loans no middle man. Deal was negotiated direct with manufacturer. There's more room to manoeuvre in terms of cheaper ticket and so on.

oh boy,seems you will have to wait for the longest time. the aviation industry in Kenya is just getting started with massive upgrade of it's major and minor airports including Kerenga airport,Manda airport recently launched Isiolo Int'l Airport Malindi Int'l Airport..
with the upgrade, the airlines operation and passenger frequencies significantly shoot up. Too bad for you.

it would have been a shame anyway to buy A 1980's propeller engine aircraft (bombardier Q-400) with a loan or lease

Isiolo, Kisumu n Malindi r not international airports. For an airport to be called international has to be able to receive continental jets e.i. 747 n above. Said airports runway length are less than 2500 km the minimum requirement. That’s according to IATA regulations.

There are only 2 reasons poor countries like Tanzania, Zimbabwe and North Korea avoid loans (and hence remain poor).
1. They think loans are bad.
2. The banks don't trust them to pay back.

Kenyans are business minded in that they have have banks, supermarkets, insurance, sport betting, real estate, schools, small businesses... the list is endless, all over Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan etc.
I'm yet to identify a single Tanzanian business in Kenya apart from Azam which you keep talking about and it has like 200 subscribers in Kenya.

Obviously is a very strong word.
Unless you restrict your market, the chances of ATCL been driving to obscurity are 95%+.

Loans are not fun during the repayment period. Even an individual never enjoys spending part of their monthly income to pay back a bank loan.
But they are essential to advance your self. Otherwise you will never amount to anything.

Do you even know the meaning of wealth. There is a difference between GDP and wealth.
GDP is the productivity in just a one year.
If its possible to count net worth, that's a whole different figure.

I don't understand that.. but I can fly from Kisumu to Jo burg so...that is pretty international to me.

I'm pretty sure your the one struggling to understand word wealth (economically). Example, newly built SGR in Kenya was build with loan money from China, and that money has been calculated on Kenyans GDP as money injected into the economic. But is that SGR technically speaking fully owned by Kenya? or it will be own by Kenya after you finish paying 90% of the loan. Because the last time I check, Kenya only inject 10% of the total cost.

Who told u Tz doesnt take loans ..it does take loans ..sema sio kwa rate kama ya Kenya ..almost every big project u undertake

GDP to debt ration in Kenya is 50%, more than half of that owned by Chinese. Let say Chinese are to demand that money back today, what will be Kenya be left with. And all this happen under Uhuru Kenyatta's watch.
 
You're disillusion if you think you'll get a slot in London (leave alone 3) anytime in the foreseeable future.
Tanzanians are simply not businessmen by nature. Therefore travel to other African countries from Dar is almost non-existent.
And their lies the problem. You will never convince an international businessman passing through Dar to abandon KQ or Ethiopian to board a funny looking aircraft to maybe Lagos or Harare.

Magufuli is getting ahead of himself. The problem is not lack of an airline. The problem is the lack of supporting numbers from Tanzanians to sustain a proper air industry.
Tanzanians are generally lazy and slow and lack the entrepreneurial spirit to invest in other countries. Even if ATCL buys 100 airplanes, they will sleep on the tarmac.

First thing is changing the national culture.
Aren't businessman by nature? Nyie endeleeni kujidanganya na hizo story zenu za decades ago, wafanyabiashara wa Kenya wanapata competition hawajai experience in the past from Tanzanian businessmen, hivi enyewe upo JF unasaidia biashara ya mtz.
