Watu kama hao unawapuuza tu. Mtu anauliza kabisa eti ni Sheikh gani mkubwa au Mwanawachuoni aliyewapinga? Sisi tumuulize yeye ni nani katika Wanawachuoni wa kutegemewa ambae anawaunga mkono hawa mbwa wa motoni? hakuna. Sababu moja ya sifa yao huwa hawana Mwanachuoni. Huwachukua watu wajinga miongoni mwao wakawafanya Wanachuoni wao. Au wakapotosha kauli za Wanachuoni wale wa zamani sababu hawaelewi.

Na Wanachuoni huwapinga sana hawa Makhawaarij, hasa Wanachuoni waliosimama katika Manhaj ya Salaf, mpaka naona uvivu kumjibu huyu jamaa anapouliza ni nani anayewapinga. Wanachuoni wote wa Kisalafi wa Saudia, anza na Mufti wa Saudia huyu wa sasa (Allah amhifadhi) na aliyepita Shaykh ibn Baaz (Allah amrehemu), akina Shaykh Fawzaan, Shaykh Rabee al Madkhali, Shaykh Ubayd al Jaabiree, Shaykh 'Abdul Muhsin al- 'Abbaad kwa kuwataja wachache tu (Allah awahifadhi) na wale waliofariki kama Shaykh Saalih al Luhaydaan, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen na wa nje ya Saudia lakini bado Arabuni kama Shaykh Albani, Shaykh Muqbil, ambaye alikuwa akiwapinga vikali hawa Makhawaarij, na Wanachuoni wengine waliofariki (Allah awarehemu) wote wanawapinga hao Mbwa wa motoni (Makhawaarij). Tena akina Shaykh Muqbil na kina Ibn Baaz walikuwa wakiwapinga na kuwatahadharisha watu juu ya hao akina Osama bin Laden na wenzie hata kabla hawajawa infamous duniani.

Mashaykh wengi wameumia na kuuawa na hawa Mbwa. Kwa mfano Shaykh Muhammad Hussain Jamil ur Rahmaan al Afghani (Allah amrehemu) ambaye alikuwa ni Shaykh wa kisalafi kule Afghanistan, aliuawa na hawa Khawaarij na kuna Mashaykh wengi huko Arabuni na Mashariki ya kati wameuliwa na hawa Makhawaarij.

Hapa Tanzania walitaka kumuua Abul Fadhl Qassim Mafuta (Allah amhifadhi) kule Zanzibar mwaka 2014, mtu alirusha bomu likamuua mwanafunzi wake na kuwajeruhi wengine akiwemo Shaykh. Sikuambii Waislam waliouawa na hawa Mbwa katika miji yetu. Hatujasahau ndugu zetu waliouawa Msikitini Mwanza mwaka 2016, na waislam wengi wengine waliouawa katika miji yetu na hawa Mbwa wa motoni.

Allah awasamehe na kuwarehemu ndugu zetu waliouawa katika matukio hayo.

The Khawarij Past and Present: ISIS Daesh in Iraq & Syria: Ibn Kathir (died 774 AH): If The Khawarij Ever Gained Strength in Iraq and Syria, There Would Be Mass Killing​

قال الحافظ ابن كثير الدمشقي ـ رحمه الله ـ في كتابه “البداية والنهاية”(١٠/ ٥٨٤-٥٨٥) عن ما سيفعله الخوارج بالأمة إذا قووا

إذْ لو قَووا هؤلاء لأفسدوا الأرض كلها عراقاً وشاماً، ولم يتركوا طفلاً ولا طفلة، ولا رجلاً ولا امرأة، لأن الناس عندهم قد فسدوا فساداً لا يصلحهم إلاّ القتل جملة

The Imaam, al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer (died, 774AH, rahimahullaah) stated in “Al-Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah” (10/584-585) regarding what the Khawaarij would do to the Ummah if they ever attained strength:

“If they ever gained strength, they would surely corrupt the whole of the earth, Iraq and Syria (Shaam) – they would not leave a baby, male or female, neither a man or a woman, because as far as they are concerned the people have caused corruption, a corruption that cannot be rectified except by mass killing.”



Today we see the reality of this affair at the hands of ISIS and other Jihadist insurgencies in Iraq and Syria. These fighters who in the name of Islam have instituted the mass killing of Muslims on the basis that rectification cannot take place except by the death of the masses. The murder perpetrated by the Khawaarij is worse than the murder committed by the sinners because the sinners do not claim that they have the license to kill from the Lord of the Worlds whilst the Khawaarij claim that Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, has commanded them with this slaughter.

:حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، يَقُولُ

شَرُّ قَتْلَى قُتِلُوا تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ وَخَيْرُ قَتْلَى مَنْ قَتَلُوا كِلاَبُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ قَدْ كَانَ هَؤُلاَءِ مُسْلِمِينَ فَصَارُوا كُفَّارًا ‏.‏ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ هَذَا شَىْءٌ تَقُولُهُ قَالَ بَلْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏.

Abu Ghālib narrated from the Companion of the Prophet, Abu Umāmah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:

“(The Khawarij) are the worst of killers who are slain under the sky, and the best of those killed are those who were killed by them. Those (Khawarij) are the dogs of Hell. They used to be Muslim people but they became disbelievers.”
Abu Ghālibasked: “O Abu Umamah, is that your opinion?” He said: “No! Rather I heard it from the Messenger of Allah.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ صَبِيحٍ، وَحَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، قَالَ رَأَى أَبُو أُمَامَةَ رُءُوسًا مَنْصُوبَةً عَلَى دَرَجِ مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ ‏”‏ كِلاَبُ النَّارِ شَرُّ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ خَيْرُ قَتْلَى مَنْ قَتَلُوهُ ‏”‏

‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ‏:‏ ‏(‏ يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ ‏)‏ إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ قُلْتُ لأَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ إِلاَّ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا أَوْ أَرْبَعًا حَتَّى عَدَّ سَبْعًا مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمُوهُ

Abu Ghālib also stated:

“Abu Umamah saw heads (of the Khawarij) hanging on the streets of Damascus. He said: ‘They are the dogs of the Hellfire and the worst of those those killed under the sky. The best dead men are those whom these [Khawarij] have killed.’ He then recited: “On the Day when some faces will become white and some faces will become black…” (3:106) until the end of the Ayah. I said to Abu Umamah: ‘Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?’ He said: ‘If I had not heard it but one time, or two times, or three times, or four times – until he counted seven occasions – I would not have narrated it to you.'”

The Khawarij have invented a lie against Allaah and His Messenger. It is for this reason Abu Umaamah (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said that Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said regarding them:

“Dogs of the Hellfire, dogs of the Hellfire! The most evil of killers that are killed under the sky.” [1]

Al-Ājurī (d. 360 A.H.) said:

“Neither the scholars of old nor of these times, ever differed about the Khawārij. They regarded them as an evil people who were disobedient to Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, and His Messenger even though they prayed, fasted and exerted themselves in worship, and all of this was of no benefit to them, even though they were apparent in enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, and that did not benefit them because they were a people who interpret the Qur’ān upon their desires.” [1]

Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597 AH ) said:

“There are many long stories about them and their strange methodologies. I will not elaborate by mentioning them. Rather, the intent here is to study the deception of Iblīs, and how he deceived these fools, who reacted hastily to all that they encountered. They believed that ʿAlī bin Abī Tālib was wrong, and those who were with him from the Muhajirīn and the Ansār were also wrong, and that they themselves were upon the truth.
They made ḥalāl the blood of children, yet they did not allow the eating of any fruits of trees without paying for it. They tired themselves out with worship, and would frequently stay awake; yet they raised their swords against the Muslims.
And even Iblīs could not have imagined the extent of this evil. We seek refuge in Allāh from being forsaken.” [1]

ʿAbdul Malik bin Abī Ḥurrah al-Ḥanafi who said:

“ʿAlī came out one day to deliver the Khutbah, and while he was speaking, the Khawārij gathered together on one side of the Masjid, so ʿAlī said, “Allāhu Akbar! A statement of truth but they intend falsehood by it.”
Yazīd bin ʿĀsim al-Muḥārabī (who was from the Khawārij) eagerly said, ‘Praise be to Allāh, our Lord will not abandon us, and we are in need of Him. O ʿAlī, are you trying to frighten us with death?!
As for me, then I swear by Allāh, I hope to strike you with this sword, very shortly, with the sharp side of the blade, then you will definitely know which of us is foremost for the fire.’
Then he left with the other Khawārij, he and his three brothers and he was the fourth. They were killed along with the Khawārij in the battle of an-Nahr and one of them was killed after that in the battle of Nākhīla.” [1]

And may of the Scholars have declared the Khawaarij insurgents to be unbelievers due to the numerous stern narrations concerning them. Bukhaaree reports (no. 5057) from Alee Ibn Abee Taalib (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) that Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

يَأْتِي فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ قَوْمٌ حُدَثَاءُ الأَسْنَانِ، سُفَهَاءُ الأَحْلاَمِ، يَقُولُونَ مِنْ خَيْرِ قَوْلِ الْبَرِيَّةِ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الإِسْلاَمِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ، لاَ يُجَاوِزُ إِيمَانُهُمْ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ، فَأَيْنَمَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ، فَإِنَّ قَتْلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ لِمَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏

“There will appear in the last days young people with foolish thoughts and ideas. They will give talk with the best of speech, but they will go out of Islam as an arrow goes through its prey, their faith will not pass their throats. So, wherever you find them, kill them, for there will be a reward for their killers on the Day of Resurrection.”

They will be driven almost to insanity like creatures afflicted by rabies: Mu’aawiyah Ibn Abee Sufyaan (radiyallaahu ‘anhumaa) said that Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

وَإِنَّهُ سَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي أَقْوَامٌ تَجَارَى بِهِمْ تِلْكَ الأَهْوَاءُ كَمَا يَتَجَارَى الْكَلْبُ لِصَاحِبِهِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ عَمْرٌو ‏”‏ الْكَلْبُ بِصَاحِبِهِ لاَ يَبْقَى مِنْهُ عِرْقٌ وَلاَ مَفْصِلٌ إِلاَّ دَخَلَهُ

“There will appear among my ummah people who will be dominated by desires like rabies which penetrates its victims. There remains not a vein and nor a joint but it penetrates it.” (Hasan: Abu Dawood 4597)

They will recite the Qur’an thinking it is in support of their ideas, yet it against them. They will fill their sermons with recitation of the Allaah’s Book, but they will not understand it as it was intended by Allaah.

يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَيْسَ قِرَاءَتُكُمْ إِلَى قِرَاءَتِهِمْ بِشَىْءٍ وَلاَ صَلاَتُكُمْ إِلَى صَلاَتِهِمْ بِشَىْءٍ وَلاَ صِيَامُكُمْ إِلَى صِيَامِهِمْ بِشَىْءٍ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَحْسِبُونَ أَنَّهُ لَهُمْ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ لاَ تُجَاوِزُ صَلاَتُهُمْ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الإِسْلاَمِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ

Zaid b. Wahb Juhani reported and he was among the force which was under the command of Ali and which set out to fight the Khawarij. ‘Ali (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said:
O people, I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:

“There would arise from my Ummah a people who would recite the Qur’an, and your recital would seem insignificant as compared with their recital, your prayer nothing as compared with their prayer, and your fast nothing as compared with their fast. They will recite the Qur’an thinking that it supports them, whereas it is an evidence against them. Their prayer (salaah) does not get beyond their collar bone; they will shoot through Islam just as the arrow passes through the prey.”

Alee (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said:

“If the army which is to encounter them were to know what goodness has been assured for them by their Messenger (ﷺ) they would completely rely upon this one deed alone. By Allah, I believe that these are the people (i.e. the Khawaarij) for they have shed forbidden blood, and raided the animals of the people. So go forth in the name of Allah to fight against them.”

Salama b. Kuhail mentioned that Zaid b. Wahb made me alight at every stage, till we crossed a bridge. ‘Abdullah b. Wahb ar-Raasibee was at the head of the Khawarij when we encountered them. Ar-Raasibee said to his army: “Throw the spears and draw out your swords from their sheaths, for I fear that they would attack you as they attacked you on the day of Haruraa.” So they went back and threw their spears and drew out their swords, and people fought against them with spears and the khawaarij were killed one after another and only two men were killed from the army of ‘Alee on that day. ‘Alee (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) said:

“Find out from among the dead bodies [of the Khawarij] the one who whose wrist would be without the arm, and the end of his wrist would be fleshy like the nipple of the breast.” This was because the Prophet informed them that such a man would be with the Khawarij. They searched but did not find him. ‘Alee then himself stood up and (walked) till he came to the people who had been killed one after another. Ali said: “Search them to the last,” and then they found him on the ground. ‘Ali then called out “Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest).” Then he said, “Allah spoke the Truth and His Messenger (ﷺ) conveyed it.” Then `Abeedah Salmānee stood before him and said: “Commander of the Believers, by Allah, besides whom there is no god but He, tell me whether you heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).” He said: “Yes, by Allah, besides Whom there is no god but He.” He asked him to take an oath thrice and he took the oath. (Sahih Muslim 1066)



Ibn Bāz and the Khawarij: Possibly the greatest Salafi scholar of this era, Shaikh Ibn Bāz (Allah’s mercy be upon him) was asked concerning the terrorist Jamā’at ul-Jihaad and whether Muslims should co-operate with them?

He answered:

They are not to be co-operated with, nor are they to be given salaams (salutations). Rather, they are to be cut off from, and the people are to be warned against their evil for they are a fitnah (tribulation) and are harmful to the Muslims – and they are the brothers of the Devil!

Source: From the taped cassette (no.11), recorded in the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1408H (1987CE) at ‘at-Tawiyyatul-Islaamiyyah’. This is the Salafi position towards these rebellious evil-doers. Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) also said:

“That which is apparent from the Prophetic narrations is that they are unbelievers. The correct and apparent view from the textual evidences is that on account of their extremism and their expulsion of Muslims from the fold of Islaam and declaring Muslims to be from the eternal inhabitants of the Hellfire, that they (themselves are in reality) unbelievers.”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said about them:

‏ الْخَوَارِجُ كِلاَبُ النَّارِ

“The Khawaarij are the dogs of the Hellfire.” (Ibn Maajah, 173 from Ibn Abee Awfaa)

يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَخْرُجُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ثُمَّ لاَ يَعُودُونَ فِيهِ هُمْ شَرُّ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخَلِيقَةِ

“They will pass clean through the religion just as the arrow passes through the prey, and they will never come back to it. They would be the worst among the creation and the creatures.” (Saheeh Muslim 1067 from Abu Dharr)

يَقْتُلُونَ أَهْلَ الإِسْلاَمِ، وَيَدَعُونَ أَهْلَ الأَوْثَانِ، لَئِنْ أَنَا أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُمْ قَتْلَ عَادٍ

“They will kill the Muslims but will not disturb the idolaters. If I should live up to their time, I will kill them as the people of ‘Aad were annihilated (by Allaah).”

They began by the rebelling against the Prophet, then against Uthmaan (resulting in his assassination), then against Alee, when they became a fighting force, and one of them eventually killed Alee, and since they have appeared in each and every era rebelling against the Muslims and their rulers. And there will come a day when the Anti-Christ will appear in their ranks: Abdullaah bin ‘Umar (radiyallaahu anhumaa) said that the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:

ينشو نشو يقرؤون القران ، لا يجاوز تراقيهم ، كلما خرج قرن قطع ، كلما خرج قرن قطع ، حتى يخرج في أعراضهم الدجال​

A group will emerge who will recite the Qur’aan but it will not go beyond their throats. Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off. Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off, until the Dajjaal appears amongst them.”

This hadeeth is graded Hasan by Shaikh al-Albaanee in Saheeh al-Jaami’ (no. 8171), and it is narrated by Ibn Majah from Ibn Umar.

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏”‏ يَنْشَأُ نَشْءٌ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لاَ يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ كُلَّمَا خَرَجَ قَرْنٌ قُطِعَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏”‏ كُلَّمَا خَرَجَ قَرْنٌ قُطِعَ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ عِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً ‏”‏ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ فِي عِرَاضِهِمُ الدَّجَّالُ ‏”‏

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah said:

“There will emerge a people who will recite the Qur’an but it will not go any furthet than their collarbones. Whenever a group of them appears, they should be cut down.”

Ibn ‘Umar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: “Whenever a group of them appears, they should be cut down.” He said it more than twenty times, and then he said: “…until Dajjal, the false messiah, emerges among them.”

The Islamic Salafi Condemnation of the Terrorist Attacks in Kenya​

1. Islām Condemns Terrorism​

All praise is due to Almighty God (Allah) who sent his Prophet Muhammad as a mercy to the creation. He is the same God that sent Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all the Prophets – may the peace and blessings of God be upon all of them, for they are brothers to one another, their mothers may be different, but their religion is one.
That which has taken place in Kenya of mass killing of students in the name of Islam is the end result of being deceived by Satan who has beautified terrorism and mindless killing in the minds of those who perpetrated these crimes. We announce without any reservation that the Islam that our Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) came with is completely innocent of the deeds of the terrorists and their wicked ideology that makes permissible the killing of innocent people. Those who perpetrated these acts have no share of the knowledge, kindness and mercy that was a hallmark of our noble Prophet and of the Prophets who came before him. When the Prophet Muhammad migrated to the city of Medina after being expelled from his home in Mecca, one of the Jewish Rabbis of Medina, Abdullah Ibn Salam, said:

“The Prophet came to Medina and the Jews were apprehensive so I went to see him and when I saw him, I knew straight away that was not the face of a liar. I heard him say: ‘Keep the family ties, pray to your Lord whilst the rest of the people sleep and spread the salaam (salutations).”

It was after this that Abdullah Ibn Salam became a Muslim.
The Prophet Muhammad foretold the rise of a terrorist sect at the end of time in his saying:

“There will appear a people at the end of time, young in age and foolish in thought. They will speak with the best of speech amongst the creation, yet faith will not sink beyond their collarbones. They will exit the religion just as an arrow goes through it target.” (Collected by Bukhari and Muslim)

This sect is known for its ignorance, foolishness, haste and violence. They describe their actions as Jihad, but in reality nothing could be further from the truth. What they engage in is murder, destruction and mass killing.
The great Salafi scholar and former Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Ibn Baz stated in the 1990’s concerning terrorism and those perpetrate it:

“And there is no doubt that this act can only be undertaken by one who does not believe in Almighty God or the Last Day. You will not find anyone who believes in God, or the Last Day with correct and sound belief performing this criminal and vile act due to which great harm and corruption has occurred. Only vile souls, which are filled with enmity, jealousy, evil, corruption and absence of faith in God and His Messenger, can perform the likes of these acts. We ask God for wellbeing and safety.”

He also said,

“And there is no doubt that this is from the greatest of crimes and from the greatest types of corruption in the earth. And those who perform the likes of this are more deserving of being killed and being restrained on account of what they have committed of great sin. We ask God that He makes them lose their efforts and shackles them and their likes and that He saves us from their evil and the evil of those like them, and that He utterly destroys their plots, indeed He is Lofty and Majestic, and Generous and Kind.” (Majmu Fatawa Ibn Baz 9/253-255).

The Salafi Scholar of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Salih Al-Fawzan stated (slightly abridged):

“So there are extremists who obligate Jihād in any and every situation without applying any pre-conditions or principles. They do so even if the Muslims are weak and powerless, and even if they do not have a Ruler over them. So each one fights the “enemy” and engages in battles and skirmishes without a legitimate rulership, and they kill the non-Muslims whom it is not permissible to kill. They kill people who have a treaty with the Muslim countries and they kill those who are protected by agreements and covenants. So this is extremism and not Jihād. Rather, these extremists go even further by blowing up homes, residential buildings and built-up areas of cities. They kill Muslims and non-Muslims, young and old, males and females, mercilessly. They put terror and fear into the Muslims and non-Muslims who live under the protection of the Muslim governments. Then they have the audacity to call that Jihād! Rather that is corruption and not Jihād. They draw the Muslims into evil, destruction and ruination. Jihād has pre-conditions and governing principles that are made clear in the books of Quranic Commentary, Prophetic Tradition and Islamic Jurisprudence.”

The appearance of the ideology of Al-Shabab (Somalia), ISIS (Syria and Iraq), Boko Haram (Nigeria) and Al-Qaeda in the 21st Century is not a new phenomenon. Muslim governments over centuries have encountered these types of rebellious movements known in Islamic terminology as the Khārijites. Along with the Shi’ītes (embodied in the modern-day Iranian regime), these Khārijites have never recognized any legitimacy except their own. Their goal being to seize power and to establish a regime of merciless brutality, in the name of “justice”! The great Salafi scholar and historian, Ibn Kathīr, who died over seven centuries ago penned the following words that resonate strongly in our times, and one senses the deep insight of this scholar. He said, regarding the Khārijites:

“If they ever gained strength, they would surely corrupt the whole of the earth, including Iraq and Syria. They would not leave alone a child, whether male or female, neither a man or a woman. This is because as far as they are concerned the people have caused corruption. A corruption that cannot be fixed except by mass killing!“ (See Al-Bidāyah, 10/584-585).

This is a bleak reminder of what can befall nations if these extremists are allowed to flourish without restraint.
Today, we are witnessing the fulfillment of these words of Ibn Kathīr at the hands of Al-Shabab and Boko Haram and other terrorist insurgencies in Africa, the Middle-East and elsewhere. These murderers who, in the name of Islām, have instituted the mass killing of people on the basis that rectification cannot take place except by the death of the masses. The killings perpetrated by Al-Shabab and Boko Haram and other extremist groups is worse than the murder committed by the sinners, because the sinners do not claim that they have license to kill from God, whilst the extremists claim that God Almighty Himself has commanded them with this slaughter, and therefore they believe they are doing God’s work! For this reason, the response to this extremist ideology must be well thought out, robust and rooted in Islamic doctrine. At the theological level, the extremists must be combatted with Quranic and Prophetic narrations backed up by the sayings and writings of the earliest generations of Muslim scholars. This has a two-fold effect. Firstly: It helps to shut down the Jihādist propaganda machine that claims to be following the Qurān and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (which is, of-course, untrue). Secondly: When unsuspecting Muslim youth hear and read these refutations, they will see through the false arguments of the extremists. Another benefit here is that the non-Muslims who have been presented with an unsightly image of Islam will realize that these terrorists do not represent Islam and have in actuality marred the beauty of the Islamic religion.

2. Recognizing an Extremist or one who is being Groomed into Violent Extremism​

There are certain signs and signals that are apparent in an extremist that are recognizable for the one who knows what to look for. Recognizing these signs is essential in combatting radicalization of Muslim youth in the West. To list just a few of those traits:

• They focus the youth constantly upon the political situation of the Muslim regimes and the Middle-East, and making that the centre-point of religious
• Openly rebuking the Muslim rulers whom they regard to be tyrants, and calling for rebellion in Muslim countries, under the banner, “judgement is for Allāh” – a phrase misappropriated by the extremists, and misused.
• Praising the heads of extremist ideologies such as Sayyid Qutb (died 1966). Qutb is revered by Jihadists all around the world from Ibn Laden and Aiman Az-Zawahīrī to Anwar Al-Awlakī and Abu Qatada. He was a prominent leader of the Egyptian group, “The Muslim Brotherhood”. His writings are widespread and translated into dozens of languages including English. The US-born Yemeni terrorist, Anwar Al-Awlakī once boasted that he was so immersed in the writings of Sayyid Qutb that he felt the presence of Qutb with him in his prison cell!
• Extremists (Khārijites) and those under their influence are distinguished with the trait of declaring Muslims who contradict their political world-view as unbelievers and apostates. They see the Muslim rulers who commit sins or acts of tyranny to be unbelievers. The declaring of Muslims to be unbelievers is referred to in Islamic terminology as Takfī For this reason, the extremists are often referred to as Takfīrites.
• Extremists will quite often glorify the acts of violence perpetrated by “Jihādist” groups, whether it be suicide bombings, beheading of hostages, killing of non-Muslims, etc. One does not see in their speech the condemnation of violent extremism or its figureheads.

3. One must not be Deceived by the Extremists due to their Outward Display of Piety​

Over a thousand years ago, the Salafi scholar, Al-Ājurrī said regarding the extremist insurgents:

“Neither the scholars of old nor of these times, ever differed about the Khārijites. They regarded them as an evil people who were disobedient to Allāh and His Messenger even though they prayed, fasted and exerted themselves in worship. And all of this was of no benefit to them.” (Ash-Sharī’ah 1/135)

Another scholar, Ibn Al-Jawzī (died 1200CE) said:

“They permitted the killing of children, yet they did not allow the eating of any fruits of trees without paying for it! They tired themselves out with worship, and would frequently stay awake, yet they raised their swords against the Muslims. Even Satan himself could not have imagined the extent of their evil!” (Talbīs Iblīs, p. 91)

4. What Can I Do If I Know Of Extremists Who Are Inciting Or Plotting Terrorist Attacks?​

The Salafi position regarding those who incite or plan terrorist acts such as suicide bombings, kidnapping or killing is that Muslims should inform the authorities. This is regardless of whether these acts are perpetrated in Muslim or non-Muslim countries. Muslim communities must be at the forefront of stamping out these non-Islamic acts that are done falsely in the name of Islām. The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) said: “There is not a people amongst whom sins are committed, and they are stronger than those who commit them yet they do not prevent them, except that Allāh sends His punishment upon them all.” The Messenger (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) described these Khārijites, explaining that they have no understanding of Islām. He said:

“They will recite the Qurān but it will not go beyond their throats. They will exit the Religion just as an arrow passes swiftly through its target.”

Parents too have a mighty responsibility to cultivate their children upon the true and correct Salafi understanding of Islām, so that they are not deceived by these impostors.

5. Salafi Islām Demands That The Muslims Deal Justly And Kindly With The Non-Muslims​

Allāh has stated in the Qurān:

“Allāh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who did not fight against you on account of Religion, and they did not drive you out of your homes. Indeed Allāh loves those who deal with equity.” (Qurān 60:8-9)

The Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) explained to his Disciples that which was revealed in the Qurān, and they in turn, acted in accordance to that. The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him) would never harm women, children and non-combatants, and he forbade others from that. He would sometimes establish treaties with the severest of enemies hoping that some good would result from it. He made peace treaties with the Jews of Madinah, the idol-worshippers of Makkah and with the Christians. These are undeniable facts. Islām is not, as is asserted by some, a blood-thirsty religion, nor does Islām desire fighting just for the sake of fighting. Unfortunately, the modern-day “Extremist-Islamists” have marred the beauty of Islām, distorted the concept of Jihād and turned countless people away from looking into the true message of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of God be upon him).
Allah stated in the Quran the following words that are a guide for every true believer:

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allāh, you have a fine example.” (Qurān 33:21)
“Call to the Path of your Lord, with wisdom and a good admonition. And debate with them with that which is best.” (Quran 16:125)
“And who is better in statement than he who calls to Allah and does righteous deeds.” (Quran 41:33)
“And by the Mercy of Allah, you (O Prophet) dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you so pass over their faults, and ask Allah’s forgiveness for them and consult them in the affairs.” (Quran 3:159)

And there is the statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, when He sent Moses and Aaron to the Pharaoh:

“So speak to him with a word that is soft, so that perhaps he may remember or fear (his Lord).” (Quran 20:44)

We ask Almighty God (Allah) to enable every Muslim and non-Muslim to fully understand these words and to comprehend the true Islamic position with respect to the people of misguidance. We also ask Him to grant every person the ability to grasp the true message and beauty of Islam as it was revealed to the noble Prophet of Islam.
Indeed all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all creation – and may peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, his family, his Companions and those who follow him precisely until the Day of Judgement.

   May Allah reward you for the work you do, ameen. My family are non-muslim and I’m glad that there is condemnations being made about these people that I can post, for them to see that these people do not represent Islam.
