CONCERN: Why are all car manufacturers setting up shop in Kenya? Iko wapi Tanzania ya viwanda?

so make me understand, how will small start ups survive before their big breaks?, did you know in Kenya you can own a company and file nil returns?
Brother you will take a century to educate a fools who is bewitched, this is economic issue which need intellectual/strategic discussion which will bring about changes in our country but he/she is brings about political view of point.
 
Back in the 90's Kenya used be the power house for motor assembly in EA, 2nd hand cars imports is what killed the industry but I can see we are slowly getting back on our feet. Welcome Volvo.

  1. Sera zetu kwa wawekezaji si rafiki sana, hazitabiriki kabisa. Leo tunasema hivi, na kesho vile. Katika dunia ya uwekezaji, kunahitajika sera zinazoeleweka na zinazovutia wawekezaji

Mtu mmoja nchi hii anaweza akaamka asubuhi . . ,akala maharage yake ya koromije, akaamua kufunga kiwanda ama biashara ya watu kwa kutangaza tuu ktk TV au radio . .
 
Sera za uwekezaji Tanzania bado hazijakaa vizuri. Sera zinabadilika badilika, kila raisi anaekuja anakuja na yake. Utitiri wa regulators, rushwa, kutothamini wawekezaji, utekelezaji mbovu wa sheria za kodi, ana kubwa zaidi taifa kwa ujumla halina business mindset. Watanzania wengi wanachukia matajiri au watu waliofanikiwa sana. Ule msemo wa alie juu msubirie chini unawagusa watu wengi. Kwa nini alie juu usimfate huko huko juu. Pengine ni kwasababu wapo wengi walifanikiwa kwa njia za udanganyifu so tunahisi kila mwenye mafanikio kapitia huko. Tatizo lingine ni ulimbukeni...mambo madogo yanakuzwa na kuonekana makubwa kupita kiasi. Tunakosa global perspective, matokeo yake watu wanaridhika mapema. Biashara hazikui kuvuka mipaka. kampuni nyingi za kenya zimewekeza hapa, ni ngapi za Tanzania zimewekeza kwao. We must change the business mindset. We must think big and see the bigger picture. Matajiri wakubwa Tanzania ni wahindi na waarabu. CEOs kwenye makampuni makubwa kama ya simu, mabenki e,.t.c ni wahindi, waarabu au wageni. Key positions zinakamatwa na expatriates. Lazma tukubali pale Kenya walipotuzidi, ndo njia pekee ya kuwakimbiza na hatimae kuwapita. Tujue wanafanya nini kinachovutia wawekezaji, sisi tufanye zaidi kuwapita.
 
Mi sidhani kama kodi ni tatizo.
It should be that hata kodi iwe kubwa vipi mwekezaji bado atataka kuja Tanzania.
Solution sio kupunguza kodi, in my view. Mi naona infrastructure. That is where Kenya wametupiga bao.

Kwanza watakudai uonyeshe wapi umepata Capital yako, na hiyo wataitumia kukufanyia makadirio ya kodi, watataka uonyeshe mkataba wa kupanga Ofisi . . , nao unalimwa kodi . . , msururu wa makodi hata kabla ya kuanza biashara unaendelea . . Bado 30% Corporate tax . .

Kuwekeza TZ lazima uwe ngangari sana . .

Wafanyakazi wa Tanzania nidhamu ya kazi ndogo sana,akishaajiriwa tu baada ya miezi 5 anaanza longolongo na kumfukuza kazi siyo jambo dogo.
Sera zetu hazina sheria nzuri za kulinda mwekezaji halali .mwekezaji anayepaweza tanzania ni Mchina Tu,na yeye anatatizo la ajira kwao china.
Mheshimiwa Raisi ,Magufuli Angalia uhakika wa Umeme na Sheria za uwekezaji.ikiwezekana kuwepo na industrial zones zenye umeme wake nje ya Gridi ya Tanesco,mfano kuweka industrial zone karibu na maporomoko ya maji,au mgodi wa makaa ya mawe.
 
Imagine mtu unafungua stationery office halafu ukienda TRA unatakiwa ulipe si chini ya 60,000. Next year wanapandisha hata ukiwaambia biashara sio nzuri wao wanakomaa tu, sjui tutafika lini.

Anyway, nafikiri tofauti ya kenya na Tanzania ni kwamba Kenya tuna uzoefu kwa mambo flani, mambo ya makampuni kama ya magari, bidhaa, nguo... hua tumetengeneza environment nzuri sana kwa biashara aina hizi, alafu tuko na sheria ambazo zinamlinda mwekezaji kama huyu...Hata rais akiamka leo na kuamua hamtaki mwekezaji flani hapa Kenya, , kama huyo mwanabiashara hataki kuondoka hakuna lolote ambalo rais anaweza fanya (Kihalali), akimfanyia lolote koti inaeza amua alipwe fidia nyingi zaidi ya alichoharibiwa.... mazoea haya yamefanya tuwe na wafanyikazi ambao wako tayari kupiga kazi kwani tayari tunazifahamu kazi aina hizo.. Kumbuka enzi zile kabla mchina auwe masoko yetu na bidhaa zake za bei rahisi, kenya ilikua na makampuni mengi sana yalioajiri wataalam wa hapa hapa.....kumbuka zile manyanga na mabasi ya kubeba abiria(matatu) hua zinatengezewa hapa hapa kenya, kwahivyo skilled labour tuko nayo...
Lakini ikija kwa aina zengine za biashara kama vile madini na malighafi, Kenya bado haina uzoefu, muekezajia akija kenya atazungushwa na kupata shida sana kwasababu hatujazoea uekezaji aina hio... Tofauti na tanzania ambako mmeshazoea...

German Firm in Deal to Build Kenya Assembly Plant - Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives

A local company has partnered with a German heavy machinery maker in a Sh23 billion venture that will see the assembly of road construction and agricultural equipment done in the country.

Bico, which is registered in Kenya, has partnered with Liebherr to build an assembling plant in Nairobi starting end of the year.

Bico founder Andrew Malunga said the company has set a target to produce at least 30 units a month comprising of earth movers, water drilling machines and farm machinery such as tractors.

The investors have an eye on county governments as their main customers.

"As the counties grapple with the huge mandate of providing residents with good roads and agricultural machinery, there is the challenge of equipment and we expect that this venture will come in handy for the devolved units," he said, adding that assembling the equipment locally will help reduce their prices.

"Marketing of the farm inputs locally will, for instance, save taxpayers from excessive taxation, and the spare parts for the machines will also be readily available," he said.

Transform country

He added that they have acquired five acres of land in Nairobi where the assembly plant will be situated, while a showroom will be built in Malindi.

"The infrastructure developments that have been initiated by the government will transform this country and proper equipment for construction are required. We believe that we have come in at the right time to provide these equipment," said Mr Malunga.

While a loader imported from Germany costs over Sh20 million, the ones that will be assembled in the country will cost about Sh13 million, said managing director Shadrack Mwangolo.

Mr Malunga said the company will set up stations in each county and employ machinery operators to enable the devolved units lease the equipment, creating at least 5,000 jobs across the country.

Obviously, wawekezaji wanaenda kuwekeza sehemu iliyo more favorable kwao. Inatakiwa tuifanye Tanzania iwe favorable kuwekeza wakati huo huo tukihakikisha "win win" situation, yaani mwekezaji ana faidika na nchi inafaidika.

Kwa hali iliyopo bongo leo, it will take a great leader ili angalau tuanze kuelekea in the right direction, bahati mbaya sana tumekuwa tukipata MEDIOCRE leaders kwa muda mrefu sasa, na tunaendelea kuanao, na sioni dalili ya hili kubadilika.

Napenda kujuzwa kuna nini cha ziada ambacho hatuna sisi Tanzania kampuni zote za magari wameamua kuunda viwanda vyao nchini Kenya na sio Tanzania kwa ajili ya kuhudumia soko la ukanda wa Afrika Mashariki.

Walianza Toyota, wakaja Volkswagen, Peugeot, Ashok Leyland, Iveco now Volvo pia wametangaza jana kufungua kiwanda Mombasa.

I thought ukiwa Tanzania unaweza kuaccess soko la SADC na EAC kwa pamoja. Why are we not using that to our advantage? Tatizo liko wapi? Ni umeme, maji, business start-up procedures au tax incentives?

Ninachojua kuwa na viwanda vya kuassemble magari ni very big business ambayo sisi watanzania hatutakiwi kupuuza hata kidogo.

Nishauri tu serikali ifanye study jinsi ya kuvutia uwekezaji kwenye hii sekta ya kuassemble magari tuchangamkie before its too late. Pia kwenye textile & apparel pamoja na pharmaceuticals.
