Let me explain it to you on simple terms Dar port to Lumbumbashi 2100km let's say cost per km ni USD 2 hivyo total cost will be usd 4200. Now if you pick up cargo from Ruvu the distance to Lumbumbashi will be 2040 hence × 2 usd per km total will be 4080 plus add the cost on SGR which is way cheaper than road transport on those 60km between Dar and Ruvu. Pia mizigo ya mikoa ya Mara, Arusha, Kilimanjaro via MGR ukiacha Tanga port MGR link option. Another dry port in Arusha is U/C!
Then a 2 km long electrical SGR cargo train will be locomoted and dropping and picking up containers along the way depending on the orders (there will also be direct trains too say it a 2 km long train for WFP consignment for Uganda)! At Dodoma there is another major marshalling yard U/C while dry ports at Isaka (Shinyanga) to be rehabilitated to incorporate SGR, Katosho (Kigoma) U/C and Fella (Mwanza) U/C. A major Marshalling yard will also be built in Mwanza city! Mind u remote dry port at kalema(in Bukoba) on shores Lake Victoria will be linked via wagon ferry to serve Bukoba and western Uganda too and a new Karema port on Lake Tanganyika and revamped Kigoma port will be all connected with SGR line aside the existing MGR! Ther vice versa is also true cargo from hinterlands to Dar port destination overseas!
