Wakuu kwa muda mrefu nimekuwa na passion ya kuijua vizuri sana hii lugha ya kiingereza km hyu member wa humu anayeitwa kiranga nitumie njia gani niweze kui master vizur hii lugha????

Kiranga ni wa kawaida sn ila watu wanampa kichwa eti anajua lugha.

Tatizo ni viwango vya hali ya chini sana tulivyonavyo Wabongo.

Mtu wala huhitaji kufanya jambo lolote lile la ajabu ili uweze kuitwa 'kichwa' na/au 'genius'.

Kwa mfano, humu ukiandika hususan kwa Kiingereza maneno ambayo labda hayajazoeleka kwa watu, hiyo inatosha kabisa kwa baadhi kukuona wewe kuwa ni 'genius' hata kama unatania tu na kuandika pumba.

Ukijadili nadharia ambayo labda wengi hawana ufahamu nayo hiyo inatosha kabisa wewe kupachikwa 'ukichwa'

Wakati mwingine huwa nasikitika sana lakini ndo hivyo tena, ndo watu wetu walivyo ama sijui ndo tulivyo kwa ujumla!
 
Soma vitabu.

ukiwa na hobby ya kusoma vitabu vya kitaaluma na hata vya burudani itakuongezea msamiati wako. Epuka kutegemea sana dictionary, ukisoma sentensi mara kadhaa you should figure out what the word meant. Halafu usiangalie bongo movie wala nigerian stuff

Huwezi kulijua jambo mara moja .....ni hatua kwa hatua ....ukijiwekea malengo ya kulifahamu utafanikiwa tu.

Hakuhini takilifu, nadhama ya kamilifu
Kinaganaga husema, ya uzuzu na ya wema
Rai yangu waungwana, tujikite kwenye dhana

Duh.

Wabongo huwa tunashededia mambo magumu ambayo hata wazungu wenyewe hawayatumii.
Jamaa kama wako vizuri ni vyema uwasiliane akupe njia aliyofikia na sio kulalamika kwani hata ukijua kitakufikisha wapi,hicho akitumiki popote hata kwa wazungu wenyewe.

In 95 I talked about the big bang theory at an impromptu communications skills class -the focus was on public speaking, not cosmogony- even the teacher couldn't ask me a question because he had heard neither of the big bang theory, nor of the word cosmogony.

These things, along with the effect of ChloroFluoroCarbons on the ozone layer and the danger posed by bacterial resistance to antibiotics for example, were in the news back in the mid nineties, I read about these. How many of our secondary school students knew about these issues or were even interested to know?

How many had access to Newsweek, Time Magazine and libraries? How many utilized this access amply?

How many were even out of diapers back then?

So sometimes the mere interest and inquisitive nature sets one apart even if one is not that exceptional.

This underscores your point that we have an issue with our collective level of exposure. To the extent that a garden variety knowledge of the English language, quite possibly leaning on a mediocre "globish" bastardization of the genuine article, is hailed akin to Churchillian bombast crossed with Dickensian prose.


And I found out about these different interesting things from reading Newsweek, Times Magazine, books from British Council, USIS and Tanganyika Library.

That's another point to ponder, do these youngsters frequent these libraries to garner even the globish that Kiranga is inappropriately reputed to be a master for?

Sasa basi, kama ulivyosema, depending on vantage point, what we see as commonplace, others see as exceptional.

Moreover, we do not know the age, education, exposure of the people asking.

While I view myself as largely ignorant regarding the intricacies of the English tongue, some would genuinely view that as some sort of pompous fake modesty.

It's all relative.

This was back in high school in 96.

And I found out about these things from reading Newsweek, Times Magazine, books from British Council, USIS and Tanganyika Library.

Mi nakumbuka mshua alikuwa na subsciption ya CIA World Factbook(s), Africa Event(s?), collection ya World Book Encyclopedia, Encyclopaedia Britannica, na majarida mengine mengi tu. Alikuwa na chumba alichokigeuza kikawa ofisi/ library ndogo nyumbani. Nothing surprising there, he was a university professor, after all. Vitabu vya atheism na agnosticism navyo vilikuwepo na bado tunavyo nyumbani hadi leo hii.

Hivyo tokea niko mdogo kabisa nimekuwa exposed na mambo mbalimbali ya kitaaluma. Ilikuwa nikiona na kusoma kitu halafu nisikielewe namwuliza ananieleza. Basi nilikuwa namuona anajua mambo mengi sana na kwamba ana akili nyingi sana.

Sasa nikawa najiuliza, huyu mdingi anajuaje mambo yote haya? Yaani ana majibu ya maswali yote ninayomwuliza! Hata American football ni yeye ndo alinifanya niipende kwa kunielezea rules zake na mengineyo. Mid 80s hiyo. Wabongo wangapi walikuwa wanajua hata kuna mchezo unaitwa American football enzi hizo?

Yeye kusoma ndo ilikuwa pastime yake licha ya kuwa ndo career yake pia.

Baada ya kukua na kuanza kuelewa mambo ndo nikajua kwa nini nilikuwa namwona kama mtu wa ajabu sana na ajuaye mengi sana. Kiukweli hakuwa mtu wa ajabu na wala hakujua kila kitu.

Alikuwa anapenda tu kujifunza mambo mbalimbali na yote aliyokuwa anayajua hayakuwa mambo ya ajabu wala. Yalikuwa ni mambo tu ya kawaida na yaliyokuwepo kwa yeyote yule mwenye shauku ya kutaka kujifunza.

Ndo sasa walau nimejua kwa nini enzi hizo Nyerere alionekana kama mungu mtu fulani hivi. Yule mzee naye alikuwa ni mtu mwenye kupenda sana kujifunza mambo. Anecdotes nilizopewa na washua ni kwamba alikuwa ni 'omnivorous reader'.

Humu unaweza kuzungumzia mambo ya jiujitsu au six sigma certification halafu ukarusha au kuambatanisha na bombast za hapa na pale na ukakuta labda ni watu wawili au watatu tu ndo walau wanajua hivyo vitu ni nini. Wengine jiiiii.

Hivyo tu, tayari unaweza ukapachikwa u-genius. Wakati sehemu zingine jiujitsu na six sigma ni mambo ya kawaida kabisa.

So, it really is all relative.

Wengi wanaona Kiranga anaandika lugha ngumu...lakini kimsingi siyo kweli ila yeye lugha yake inacut across different disciplines kwa kutumia misamiati husika appropriately.

Halafu kwa kuwa na mimi najua najifunza bado, siwezi kuacha kuandika kiingereza changu cha kuunga unga kwa kuhofia watu watanisema vizuri au kwa kutaka sifa. Huko nyuma sikuwa hivyo, kwa nini nianze sasa?

Nikifanya hivyo nitajinyima nafasi yangu ya kujiendeleza zaidi.

Nakumbuka tukiwa shule Tambaza tulikuwa tunaongea kiingereza na rafiki zangu mpaka kwenye mabasi, kwa kuwa tulikuwa tunajifunza. Ilikuwa kama utani lakini tulikuwa tunapata mazoezi ya kuongeleshana kiingereza bila kujali watu wengine watafikiri vipi. Wengine wakatuona tunajidai, walioelewa wakaona vijana wanaweka jitihada ya ziada nje ya madarasa kujifunza kiingereza.

Hakukuwa na cha ajabu, after all hizi habari muda huo kwa vijana fulani wa mitaa fulani zilikuwa za kawaida kama jando kwa makabila fulani. Vijana waliozibukia hip hop, sitcoms, comedies, international news, novels, non fiction books etc kuongea Kiingereza, hata kama ni cha kujifunzafunza tu, haikuwa cha ajabu sehemu fulani.

Nakumbuka kuna siku tukakutana na mzee mmoja wa wizara ya elimu alikuwa impressed na maongezi yetu mpaka akajichanganya kwenye mazungumzo yetu, kiingeteza. Mzee anashangaa nimeshika kitabu cha Carl Sagan ananiuliza kama nakielewa. Nikamwambia nakielewa vizuri na hiki cha pili sasa nasoma. Akatuambia "kila mara nasikia mambo mabaya kuhusu shule yenu lakini nyinyi mnaonekana smart tu". Tukamwambia mambo ya samaki mmoja akioza yanatuharibia wote.

Najikuta kwamba kadiri ninavyozidi kujisomea, nakusanya msamiati mkubwa zaidi, na kadiri ninavyokuwa na msamiati mkubwa zaidi, nautumia zaidi. Mara nyingine bila ya kupanga.

Natoa historia zote hizi ili wanaofikiri kuna cha kuiga wajue kufika hapa - ambapo mimi.napaona bado chini sana, lakini.wengine wanaona panatamanika sana tu- haikuwa.kazi ya mara moja. Ni utamaduni uliojengeka tangu niko mdogo naangalia comics za Archie na Tintin, najaribu muelewa story kwa kuangalia picha, halafu ukweli kwamba sijui kusoma kiingereza na nashindwa kuelewa story yote ukaniuma sana na kunisukuma kujifunza kiingereza mwa njia zote, kuanzia kamusi.mpaka kujifua kwa maongezi.

There is a point when one has to decide to be a Bodhisattva or a Buddha.

One shouldn't be blamed for either decision.
