Dude, why do you like with your own invented figures and assumptions. When you man up, get the right stats come back and talk like a man. Not telling us that BRT is more viable than SGR, a billion dollar project. What makes you think experts would spend that amount for such a project besides, i thought BRT is supposed to be a non-profitable system put in place to ease city traffic. No2 you're here comparing it's profitability to Kenya's SGR. You're being insane.

Yes BRT is suppose not to make profit, but it must be sustainable and not making loses too, by charging Tshs 650 which is about Ksh 30 is far cheap than many private own of such standard, but because it carries big number of people per day, it makes alot of money per day.
 
kwani they dont pay those storage charges at Mombasa??? my friend, Ugandan traders still pay storage charges at the Mombasa port....but after the launch of the cargo trains, they wont have to pay it in Mombasa since goods will be taken to Nairobi immediately they are offloaded from the ship....in fact this will make it easier for them since they will come from UG to find the goods have already arrived at Nairobi...
How about the cost of offloading and loading in Mombasa and Nairobi.... Who is going to pay?

considering that the Kenya SGR is even more economically viable as compared to your yet to be built SGR, im sorry but i cant start playing along, ill be a moron if i start comparing a mere BRT to a mega SGR project which is work on progress too.Ngong to Naivasha we are talking more than 50% done at the moment...

Greenfield project was a project well thout out long time ago during Raila/Kibaki regime, the initial meeting,design and price tag was done then, back in 2010-2011.

Problems started when tendering kept on changing as you can see below this is a 2011 news article , where Raila was telling arliament to keep off the project.

The problem continued until it reached a point the tendering process was cancelled and a new tender issued, by then Uhuru was in power 2013, at the time the airport was ver congested. In the same 2013, part of the airport caught fire fording jkia to build a temporary prefabricated terminal then renovate the burnt terminal to what is now known as terminal 1A these temporary measures significantly increased the capacity of jkia so the govt realised that the $600m greenfield wasn't that much of a priority, at he time there were other things that were more important to the jubilee govt lle.g the sgr,msa port, roads,...etc also some people believe some power rokers within the jubelee govt are the nes who cancelled the project because they didn't benefit anything during tendering... Those are some of he events that happened b4 final cancellation. But there are those like me o believe the project shouldn't have been cancelled, if we want to cement our position as an aviation hub then we need an airport that makes statement to the world, an airport that withing its compound will have a 7star hotel, level 5 hospital among other amenities, the greenfield project was all of that and we wasted it.

Interms of capital investment yes, Kenya SGR is a giant compare to BRT, but interms of revenue collection, Kenya SGR, will never compete with BRT, remember that when is complete BRT will carry 1M people per day, @650Tshs this give $250,000 per day, there is no any SGR, can make that money per day, even Tanzanian one which its capacity is more than twice that of Kenya, can't.

But upgrading old things and making then look like they are new always come at a price, eventually you will need to replace it with a new one, that's why the land where the greenfield terminal was supposed to be will be left untouched, at some point in future we will go back to that project. Remember our current SGR was first mentioned in 1980 by Moi's government, the Lamu port too was mentioned in 1978 but it was decided then that upgrading mombasa port and the meter gauge rail was enough to serve kenya and the region, today both the Lamu port and SGR are back on the table again.
The jkia second runway too was to be done in 2006 somehow it didn't happen, now its necessary and its happening

The correct terms we are talking about is Capacity vs PAX (persengers who go through the airport)

Fact1: Jkia capacity is at 7.5m
Fact2: Jkia pax in 2014 was 6.5m
Fact3: As per the wikipedia article you provided, pax at jkia in 2016 was 7,039,137

The correct terms we are talking about is Capacity vs PAX (persengers who go through the airport)

Fact1: Jkia capacity is at 7.5m
Fact2: Jkia pax in 2014 was 6.5m
Fact3: As per the wikipedia article you provided, pax at jkia in 2016 was 7,039,137

But that's not even necessary. If you carefully go through the wikipedia link that your drunk friend brought you will see that 2.5m is mentioned more than once.

First one is terminal 1a, second one is terminal 2 that's already 5m... Add that to the initial capacity of the airport plus smaller upgrades since the airport was launched

These 2 terminals were both finished in 2015 alone

The previous jkia in the 70s plus subsequent upgrades (especially upgrading of terminal 1E had 2.5m capacity

That's 2.5 + 2.5 + 2.5 = 7.5m capacity
