Genesis 6:5-7: "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become... and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, 'I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created...'"

2. Why do the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper?
While the righteous may suffer temporarily, God promises ultimate justice and eternal rewards. The prosperity of the wicked is often temporary, and God's plan is beyond our understanding. Ultimately, God will vindicate the righteous in His perfect timing.
Psalm 37:7-9: "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways... For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land." 2 Corinthians 4:17: "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

Romans 8:18 says: "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." God's ultimate plan is to bring hope, healing, and justice, where suffering will be no more.
