Milan may not sign Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek until
Wednesday as it is still not known if any Rossoneri players will
head the other way.


It was thought Jose Mauri would be included in Milan’s deal
for Piatek, who in turn was expected to complete his transfer
on Tuesday.
A player in exchange would have driven the price down to
€35m, but Gianluca Di Marzio warns the Diavolo have yet to
convince Mauri into joining Genoa.
The Sky Sport Italia journalist adds the Grifone are not
interested in Alen Halilovic and that they still have not agreed
a fee to sign Andrea Bertolacci this month.
Consequently, the Pole would be waiting for ‘both clubs to give
the green light’ before he travels to Milan.

Max Allegri backed Paulo Dybala to become ‘truly great’, urged Emre Can to ‘use the ball quicker’ and hinted Milan did not use Gonzalo Higuain correctly.

After Piatek, AC Milan have completed the signing Leroy Abanda Mfomo. The young left back joins on a free transfer from Monaco.
The arrival of Geoffrey Moncada as AC Milan’s chief scout, is allowing the Rossoneri to also buy young talents who in a very shot period of time can highlight their potential and become first important team players. Now AC Milan are adding another prospect to their ranks.

The Red and Black have just closed the signing of Leroy Abanda Mfomo from Monaco. Abanda Mfomo will immediately join AC Milan in the coming days after Monaco approved his departure in advance. The 18 year old defender will join Milan Primavera for the remaining of the season.

According to reports The French defender will sign a five year contract. Leroy Abanda Mfomo is a left-back that can also play as left midfielder. This season he made 10 appearances in UEFA’s Youth League, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists. Truly enviable numbers considering his defensive role. Abanda has also played with France under-16 and 17, making a total of 11 appearances. The starlet was strongly desired by the chief scout Moncada who knows him well since the two worked together at Monaco.

On the left flank AC Milan have lacked freshness and quality. It is still early to say whether Abanda is ready for the first team, but certainly he is a promising defender with a bright future ahead of him. Currently, coach Gennaro Gattuso can only really count on Ricardo Rodriguez on that position. Diego Laxalt has disappointed while Ivan Strinic (30 years old) has just recovered from a heart problem.

Patrick Cutrone saluted Gonzalo Higuain ahead of the transfer to Chelsea and welcomed new teammate Krzysztof Piatek to Milan.
The transfer merry-go-round is in full swing today, with Higuain in London for his medical and Genoa striker Piatek set to sign this evening for €35m plus bonuses.
“I had a great rapport with Pipa (Higuain’s nickname). He is a champion and taught me so much. I thank him for all the great advice he gave to me,” Cutrone told Sky Sport Italia.
“Piatek is a very strong striker and he’s proved that in recent months. I don’t know if his move is official yet or not, but he can give us a big hand. My teammates and I will certainly help him settle in to the squad.”
With Higuain leaving, it remains to be seen whether Piatek will take the Number 9 or Cutrone.
“It would be an honour to wear the Number 9 jersey. Right now, I am focused on doing well and always being ready when called upon, then we’ll see.
“I always try to ensure I am in good shape and ready to deliver, whether it is as a substitute or from the start. I try to convince the Coach to convince me that I deserve to start.”
Gennaro Gattuso has nicknamed Cutrone ‘poison’ because of his passion on the field, fighting for every ball.
