Four of our summer signings are in contention to start vs Torino. Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic could all be in the XI.

Italian Serie A giants AC Milan and English Premier League outfit Manchester United are monitoring Brescia’s highly-rated midfielder Sandro Tonali.

The 19-year-old is one of the hottest young property in the Italian football and therefore has attracting interest from within the country and abroad as well.

After another impressive performance in the match against Udinese, Tonali has now attracted more interest in him and it will come as no surprise as more and more clubs will try their luck to sign the young midfielder in the summer of 2020.

The AC Milan leadership have already made the decision to make resources available for signings in January, a report claims.

The Rossoneri made six additions over the summer; namely Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao, Ismael Bennacer, Leo Duarte and Ante Rebic (loan).

Patrick Cutrone and Andre Silva left for Wolves and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively as new head coach Marco Giampaolo began to put his stamp on the team.

However, the results have been far from perfect to begin the season: two defeats from the opening four Serie A games and just one goal scored from open play.

According to Sky Italia – as cited by Calciomercato.com – the decision has already been made by the club to reinforce the squad in January.

Links with a number of players have emerged in recent days, including the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Everton Soares, Donyell Malen, Serge Aurier, Santiago Arias and Sandro Tonali.

Milan director Zvonomir Boban has already stated that he regrets not signing more experience in the summer, meaning that could be a point of focus this winter.

Marco Giampaolo admits Milan “aren’t happy” ahead of facing Torino but insists his team have already flushed out their derby disappointment.

Milan were outplayed in a 2-0 defeat to Inter last weekend, casting a downer over their preparations for Thursday’s Serie A trip to Torino.

“I’m aware of what we are today,” Giampaolo said at a Press conference.

“I’m aware that we have things to improve on. We’re not happy right now, no-one is. We’re working to be stronger and more convincing. I know the team’s problems well, we’re working to find solutions.

“After the derby, there’s disappointment. We have a duty to start over and fix things. That’s the most important thing. The team are working well and have set aside the disappointment of the defeat.

“We must react head-on and start over with determination.”

Krzysztof Piatek was the find of the season in 2018-19 but has scored just one goal this time out...

“There’s no issue with him. We must all improve in the attacking phase. We have to work to reach fourth place.

“We have to work to be strong, then we’ll see where we get. It’s a question that can’t be answered now.

“Torino are a physical and tricky team to face with good individuals, so Milan must go to Turin to play their game.”

The Coach accepts the Rossoneri are “something else” compared to Sampdoria, so is he feeling the pressure?

“The directors are always around and when we talk, we always exchange ideas and opinions, but there’s been nothing particularly noteworthy.

“Milan are something else compared to Sampdoria. This Milan have different characteristics. I must work to help my players perform better.

“I never think about things like my future.”

Giampaolo: “We are all exposed to criticism and it is a part of our job, I don’t like changing the formation, I certainly feel this team follows me”
Marco Giampaolo during a press conference at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
Marco Giampaolo has talked about what went wrong against Torino as he prepares for tomorrow’s game.

Milan will look to put the five opening Serie A games, in which they lost three times, behind them, and start afresh tomorrow at San Siro against Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina (20:45 CEST kickoff).
It remains to be seen who Giampaolo will choose to start the match, but the system could once again be 4-3-3, with Rafael Leão and Suso flanking Krzysztof Piątek. Whoever starts, however, will have to be much more clinical than what Milan were against Torino, as they missed numerous chances on Thursday.

“What feeling did I have following Donnarumma’s statements yesterday, considering he was labelled as one of the dressing room leaders last week and yesterday he said that the team is on the right path? It was certainly a pleasure [to hear Gigio’s words], but I always begin with the point that you can never lie to your players, because the coach instills things in his players not just through words but with feelings as well. He has clearly understood well and he’s come out and stated what he believes in.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Davide Calabria before Torino-Milan at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on September 26, 2019. (@acmilan.com)
“What went wrong against Torino and if I feel that the team failed to pick up on the signals that danger was coming? In Turin we made the mistake of not killing off the game. That is what we needed to do to win that match. At a certain point we did lose some of our coordinates, we struggled to provide a filter in midfield and set up our defense properly. I had fun for most of the game, by having fun I mean that the team was playing the way we wanted to, they were doing things naturally.

However, we still need to learn to manage the moment. The overall judgment of the game, however, is affected by the result.
“If the right direction has been found? Aside from any choices, we are always paying a lot of attention to individual players, but I prefer to look at how the team plays. My objective from my very first day was for the team to learn to manage every moment of the game, to be in complete control of every game, to have more possession than our opponents. All these elements direct the game, for most of the match in Turin I saw these things being done well. The team were confident in what they were doing.

A small detail can often ruin everything. On this occasion we lost, we had a number of chances to double our lead, we failed to double and we failed to kill off the match.
Ante Rebić during training at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
“What game will Milan have to play tomorrow against Fiorentina? Every game is complicated, there is no such thing as an easy game, and you need to work hard every time, as the season is showing. In the end, it is the mentality that makes the difference. I always tell my players to respect the opponents, regardless of where they are in the league. We need to play with an offensive mentality, we need to be hungry and want to win.

“Why the team is struggling so much to score? Before the game against Torino, there was a reason: we hadn’t created a number of chances to score, we’d failed to create opportunities to score. On the other hand, against Torino we had a number of chances: we dominated the ground, we were in our opponents’ box. We can’t analyze all five games in the same way, the first four were one thing but against Torino we were lacking accuracy. However, I still feel that there is no problem with our forwards.

Mateo Musacchio, Krzysztof Piątek and Rafael Leão celebrating during Torino-Milan at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on September 26, 2019. (@acmilan.com)
“If we are at the beginning of a ‘feeling’ between Piątek and Leão considering they were switching positions in the derby and against Torino Piątek’s cross to Leão resulted in a penalty? Piątek, in that position, is at his best, that’s where he was used to play. Leão, I think, has the characteristics of playing on that side, so it’s natural to position him there. However, the ability of the players to find room to play is the result of their own characteristics. We need to bring a lot of players forwards, to bring them into our opponents’ half. It’s important to win the ball back, close to our opponents’ penalty area. It is certainly more difficult when teams play with all their men behind the ball. But both players have the quality to find the room to play.

They are starting to have a good ‘feeling’ between them, as are others. The two of them don’t exclude other players. Like I said, I don’t pay attention to individual players. I want to see how they contribute to the entire team.

“There seems to be fragility in the team when a match begins to be more physical and if this team needs to work on their temperament? I believe it’s possible to defend by improving our possession of the ball, because if you have the ball there are, inevitably, less opportunities for the opponents. The team has the right temperament, we need to learn how to better manage possession, especially when our opponents might react to how we are performing.

There are no games where you can dominate for 95 minutes, it is important to learn how to limit our opponents to our technical abilities, which is a characteristic of this team. The more rough players I put on, the less technical players I can field.

Lucas Biglia during training at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
“If I’m going to make changes tomorrow night? We have carefully evaluated the physiological responses of each individual player. We have data, today we’ll be evaluating them again and then tomorrow I will judge who is fittest for the game. Obviously I’ll also have to be careful of the fitness levels.

“If we’ll continue tomorrow with 4-3-3 or with 4-3-1-2. It is important to cover the entire field, in Turin we were extremely well-positioned as long as we had the right points of reference. As soon as our points of reference changed, we struggled on the first pressure, which led us to putting our defensive line at risk. Every play, as we did in the beginning, we had the center covered and could play on the wings. With the 4-3-3 we have to be good at bringing players close to Piątek. The two formations lead to different requirements on the field, I know you [the journalists] are less interested in these tactical aspects, but a game is made up of many little details. But these things are essential to avoid waiting for your opponents to make it to your half. My players are very careful and are paying a lot attention in training, I am very demanding, and I know that the balance and equilibrium of the team is affected by even the tiniest of details.

Ricardo Rodríguez during training at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
“I said there was a reason we didn’t score much in the first four games? I was merely referring to goal scoring. The strikers had a justification because we were not creating goal-scoring chances. When you’re unable to score, because you’re unable to create chances then that’s a normal result. However, against Torino we produced more chances, all I’m saying is that it’s wrong to compare all five games. In the first four, our forwards had an excuse… in Turin they didn’t, despite the fact that we lost.

“Going back to the old formation? You begin working down one road. I don’t like changing, because when you change you lose your points of reference, for individual players and for the whole team. We need to continue working on the same project. 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 doesn’t really make much difference, it’s the characteristics of each individual player that make the difference. It’s not the formation that wins the game. Allegri’s Juventus won seven titles playing with variable formations changing every game, it’s not the formation that wins in the end.
Theo Hernández and Samu Castillejo before Torino-Milan at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on September 26, 2019. (@acmilan.com)
“I said the new arrivals need to settle in but against Torino three of them started and played well? The new arrivals still need to complete their settling in.

They need to continue with specific training, but that also applies to the older players. All our players need to work a lot and hard. When we talk about new and old players, the question is about their ability to play the entire 90 minutes, it’s not a technical question. But the cohesion still needs to be developed for all players.

“If I regret not playing the new players sooner considering the first 65 minutes against Torino? As for the new players, Theo Hernández was injured for a month and a half, he’s very fit, he has got great impetus pushing forward and he’s a very proactive player, but he was injured for a month and a half. We weren’t in a position to choose. The same goes for Bennacer and it’s very similar with Leão. So I have no regrets. And the players who were here before are not inferior to the others. A team cannot have just 11 players.

“If I’m happy with the club coming out in support of my work? Confidence is not something that someone gives you because you are beautiful, tall and with blue eyes… It’s a very difficult and complex matter. You [the journalists] base everything on the results which I understand. But for others, it can be the process, the work that is carried out. 22-23 years ago, I was in the other position, I worked as a director in a small club, so I know how clubs think. In the end, the important thing is whether the coach is credible, whether the team is following him, whether he has a clear project. Hopefully, in the end it goes well beyond results and scoring or not scoring. The board makes its decisions based on many more elements.

Krzysztof Piątek before Torino-Milan at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on September 26, 2019. (@acmilan.com)
“If showing Piątek some Quagliarella goals will help considering Capello used to show Ibrahimović goals from Van Basten and it helped him? Last season, Piątek scored more than 20 goals. Each player has his own characteristics, you can’t really compare. They are different situations, and the clubs have different expectations. I show my forwards their own videos.

“Why did the blackout happen against Torino? You [the journalists] always look at the final frame… on the occasion of the two goals, Musacchio has no responsibility – you are focusing on the last frame: Belotti against Musacchio. But Musacchio did exactly what he had to, our mistake was earlier. On the second goal, when we lost our initial points of reference, and were unable to adapt, that is what happened: the second goal came from a vertical pass, we should have stopped the entire thing from happening, to prevent Belotti from receiving the ball. Both goals were the result of poor team work, which in the end punished us beyond how much they should have.

It’s impossible to prevent your opponents from having any shots on goal.
“If Paquetá will be available to play tomorrow and what answers have I received in training from players who have not featured yet? Paquetá trained with the team, luckily it wasn’t a muscular injury. Obviously, the players who’ve played less are not happy, but they are working with the right attitude, they are professionals. Obviously, they’d prefer to be playing more.

Lucas Paquetá during training at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
“How is the team doing physically? The physiological and biological parameters we are studying are very positive. That shows the team has recovered. We have also compared the current data to last season’s data for the players who were here and all data is encouraging.

“If I feel like a scapegoat due to the criticism of the fans? I understand the fans’ feelings. Milan has millions of fans and a glorious history. So I understand the criticism and the upset from the fans. My duty is to continue working hard, trying to improve the performance of the players and the team. And I focus solely on what is my task.

“Gattuso often talked about the importance of how fluid the wings are in a 4-3-3? In Turin, we created a number of good chances. Due to his characteristics, Theo always pushes forward – even when he shouldn’t, in those terms he needs to be disciplined. He’s a very, very skilled player but he needs to acquire balance and become even stronger. Calabria and Conti both also have these abilities, while Ricardo Rodríguez is more rational and more careful without the ball.

But both wings develop quite well, but in all circumstances you need balance and you need to be solid defensively. Our second goal conceded was a result of a counter-attack, there are many details that can change the outcome of a game. We need to defend as a team, if we are playing as individual players we can sacrifice three up front, but that is not how we do.

Marco Giampaolo during training at Milanello. (@acmilan.com)
“If I feel that this team is 100 percent mine or if it will take more time to see the real Milan of Giampaolo? I certainly feel that this team follows me. But it is not my team, it is the fans’ team.

“How did Donnarumma react to the criticism? He is highly-professional, with very strong character. I remember he received very harsh criticism in the past as well when he was 17 or 18, but he was able to react with the right spirit and approach. He is a standout player. We are all exposed to criticism, even when we win because we might not be winning convincingly, cleanly…

it is a part of our job. And I don’t think any attention should be paid to it, because this is just how the job is.
“I asked the team to play more compactly to reduce mistakes and if I think Çalhanoğlu did it well against Torino? I was happy with Hakan’s performance, he’s a strong player, he knows how to play, and he knows how to link the lines…

The good things we did for most of the match in Turin, we need to be able to multiply over the next few games. Over 95 minutes, there are times when you need to dig deep, when you need to work together to hold on tight. That goes for every team.

Sometimes you need to defend, other times you need to keep possession more. We need to improve on every aspect but it will all come down to drilling repeatedlyGiampaolo: “We are all exposed to criticism and it is a part of our job, I don’t like changing the formation, I certainly feel this team follows me”

We are all exposed to criticism, even when we win because we might not be winning convincingly, cleanly… it is a part of our job. And I don’t think any attention should be paid to it, because this is just how the job is.

“I asked the team to play more compactly to reduce mistakes and if I think Çalhanoğlu did it well against Torino? I was happy with Hakan’s performance, he’s a strong player, he knows how to play, and he knows how to link the lines… The good things we did for most of the match in Turin, we need to be able to multiply over the next few games. Over 95 minutes, there are times when you need to dig deep, when you need to work together to hold on tight. That goes for every team.

Sometimes you need to defend, other times you need to keep possession more. We need to improve on every aspect but it will all come down to drilling repeatedly

*Sacchi: 'Giampaolo better bet than me'*

Arrigo Sacchi has urged Milan to keep faith with under-fire Coach Marco Giampaolo. “He’s certainly a more reliable bet than I was in 1987.”

Rossoneri director and playing legendPaolo Maldini compared Giampaolo’s tactical adjustments to the early difficulties felt by Sacchi before going on to form one of the best teams in history.

Now the man himself is also warning there are parallels and the club mustn’t be hasty in pulling the plug.

“Giampaolo’s Milan showed improvements that bode well for the future,” wrote Sacchi in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Maldini compared this start to mine in 1987, a season that culminated in the Scudetto victory. I hope for them that history does repeat itself.

“I can say that Giampaolo is certainly more of a reliable bet than I was in 1987. Marco has been coaching in Serie C, B and A for years. Over the last four seasons, his teams have gone well beyond expectations, playing a beautiful and entertaining style of football that made them protagonists.

“He got the best out of many young players, proving himself to be a real teacher with sensibility and ideas that go beyond the norm.

“The club must avoid being precipitous, instead showing faith and friendship, the way Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani did with me.

“I was a nobody, but the club trusted me and followed my indications, including in the transfer strategy for signings and sales. Giampaolo needs to feel the respect of Milan the way I did. Only that way can be express his full potential in a relaxed and cohesive environment.”

Another defeat. After the derby and Torino, Milan are still failing badly. For Marco Giampaolo it is the third consecutive defeat with a game idea that is still totally non-existent.
Here, our correspondent Vito Angele has offered an update on the situation at the club…

THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTOR
What worries beyond the game is the mental condition of many players. The player suffering most is Hakan Calhanoglu: the Turk once again was the worst on the field, but was left on the pitch for the while game by an awkward Giampaolo.

ANOTHER FALL UNDER THE EYES OF GORDON SINGER
Gordon Singer was also present for the third consecutive defeat. A defeat that is not exactly appreciated at the top of Elliott: this is why Giampaolo could be at risk for the first time.

If the former Sampdoria should be exonerated, Milan could opt for a temporary solution. In this regard the names of Claudio Ranieri, Roberto Donadoni or the resounding return of Gennaro Gattuso – highly esteemed by Elliott – could take their share.

AC Milan could make contact with Andriy Shevchenko regarding the idea of taking over as head coach, a report claims.
The Rossoneri’s crisis deepened on Sunday night as Fiorentina prevailed 3-1 at San Siro thanks to Erick Pulgar’s penalty plus goals from Gaetano Castrovilli and Franck Ribery.

The result makes it four defeats in six to start the season, something which hasn’t happened to Milan since 1938, and speculation has once again started up about Giampaolo’s position at the club.

On Monday, we revealed via our correspondent Vito Angele that while the former Sampdoria boss has the full backing of Maldini and Boban, Elliott Management want to see an improvement in results quickly .
According to a report from TMW, Ukraine national team head coach Andriy Shevchenko ‘could become more of an idea’ for the bench in light of the result against La Viola.

The club are currently in a state of reflection, the report claims, and Giampaolo’s future as Milan head coach is far from guaranteed.

The crisis at AC Milan deepened on Sunday night as the Curva Sud left the stadium well before the full-time whistle.

It was another disastrous game for the Rossoneri as Vincenzo Montella’s Viola side strolled to three-goal lead thanks to Erick Pulgar’s penalty plus goals from Gaetano Castrovilli and Franck Ribery.
Leao did provide the remaining fans with one moment of joy as he weaved past two defenders inside the box before finishing confidently into the bottom corner.

However, prior to that the majority of the Curva Sud had left, even chanting that the club ‘does not deserve them’ in light of recent results.
Milan sit one point above the relegation zone having lost four of their opening six games this season.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has his heart set on a move for AC Milan star Suso, according to a report.

The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move away from Milan during the summer amid doubts that he would be able to adapt to Marco Giampaolo’s preferred 4-3-1-2 formation.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Fiorentina were interested in a move for Suso, while Roma and Lyon were also linked by a number of different outlets, but he ended up staying at the club.

Attention has turned to the Spaniard’s possible renewal, with Calciomercato.com recently stating that Milan are looking to remove Suso’s €38m release clause, but that he would require a pay rise in order to do so.

Now though, Milan may have to act fast if they are to tie down their playmaker, who has a combined 47 goals and assists in 109 appearances for Milan since the start of the 2016-17 season.

Spanish outlet Don Balon states that Florentino Perez wants to replace Isco with Suso and as such is considering a move.

They state that he believes Suso ‘has similar characteristics to Isco’s, but is younger and hungry for success’.

A swap deal is mentioned as being a possibility – one which Milan would accept – while the previous comments regarding interest from Real has given them hope.

“When the best teams in the world look at you, it is to be proud,” Suso is quotes as saying.

“It means that things are being done well. Make the jump to one of the best teams in the world is always to be happy.”

Dah acha tu...
Hili suala linatuumiza sana Familia ya Milan

Franck Ribery has spoken to Sky Sport after Fiorentina's 3-1 victory at San Siro this evening, saying:

'I'm happy, playing at the San Siro is always special: it is a big stadium, full of fans. Sorry for Milan, it's a bit of a difficult moment for them but it was important for us and we had a good game.

'Yes, I'm old. I'm not young. But I like playing football. Football is my life, I want to help Fiorentina, I have a two-year contract here and I'm happy.

'Chiesa? Federico is a good player, I always talk to him and he always listens to me. It is important for him to always play like today.'

Following the 1-3 defeat to Fiorentina at San Siro last night, Marco Giampaolo's position with AC Milan is at risk. After losing four of the first six games, the Rossoneri have three names in mind to replace the manager: Claudio Ranieri, Roberto Donadoni or Gennaro Gattuso, as reported by SempreMilan.com. It remains to be seen what the next step will be.

The leader of AC Milan’s Curva Sud – Giancarlo Capelli – has revealed more about the decision to protest during the defeat to Fiorentina.
Milan lost their fourth game of the season on Sunday night as they were beaten 3-1 by Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina, and pressure is beginning to build on Giampaolo.
After a dreadful start to the season – statistically the worst since 1938-39 – there is all sorts of speculation that Milan could sack their head coach and look for a replacement.
It was a hostile atmosphere all evening with protests from the Curva Sud during the second half, including a mass walkout after La Viola netted their second goal.
Capelli – known as ‘il Barrone – has given an interview with MilanNews.it to express the displeasure of the group.
“We cheered incessantly until there was a moment when spontaneously, at the end of the first half, we asked the team to start performing,” he said.
“The result was that horrible second half, so the subsequent protest was inevitable. After these results, people are disappointed.
“turnaround was expected this year, there was enthusiasm for the new coach, for the return of Boban and Maldini.
“Beyond the fact that there was that disagreement between us and Maldini, the fan after a while looks beyond, for the good of Milan. Just as we accepted Leonardo last year, despite the betrayal towards us when he joined Inter.
“The protest a general dispute, addressed to all members of the club. Not only the coaches and players are to blame, but also those who chose them.
“There are players who, really, are not Milan level. With the exception of Turin, where he made some mistakes, Donnarumma saved us on several occasions.
“He is the only player who has proved to be of Milan quality. Then, for the first time this season, we failed to see the commitment of the majority of the team and this is not acceptable.”
Capelli then continued by offering his thoughts on Giampaolo – and it was a far from positive assessment.
“I was negative from the beginning on the choice of this coach, I am sorry to say.
“To me Giampaolo does not convince at all, because Milan cannot go and get a coach from a team that were 10 points below us last season.
“The coach becomes decisive, given that you don’t have any players up to speed. He also, in this situation, gives the team a day off.
“If it were Sacchi or Gattuso he would send them to retreat. Knowing Rino, I believe he would not come back to us.
“I really hope that Milan, if we were to change coach, will not take a mediocre coach yet again. You cannot appoint another caretaker and then say: ‘At the end of the year we will see’, we need a coach who is ready.
“When we are in the Marassi [against Genoa on Saturday], then, we will see their behaviour in the field and we will see.
“We do not depart with the idea of continuing the protest, but let’s start with the desire to incite Milan, as we always do in every stadium.
“Milanisti, however, are fed up and I think everyone understood it after last night.”

AC Milan are reportedly set to have a dinner meeting with club legend Andriy Shevchenko, as reports continue to link the former striker with the post of the Milan manager.

Marco Giampaolo has won just two of the first six games as the rossoneri boss and the 3-1 loss to Fiorentina was another big defeat for the Italian, who finds his job now on the line in the upcoming game against Genoa on Saturday.

With the club currently 16th in the league, Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Shevchenko will be present at the San Siro during Atalanta's Champions League clash against Shakhtar later today.

Gennaro Gattuso would consider a shock return as AC Milan head coach if Marco Giampaolo is fired, a report has claimed.
Under Giampaolo Milan have made their worst start to a season since 1938-39, losing four of their first six Serie A games and scoring just two goals from open play in the process.
The Rossoneri have lost three games in a row, including damaging defeats at home in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter and on Sunday night when Fiorentina – managed by Vincenzo Montella – completely outplayed their hosts.
Speculation is now rife that Giampaolo is on borrowed time and that the club are already looking for his replacement, with the likes of Rudi Garcia, Andriy Shevchenko, Roberto Donadoni and Claudio Ranieri all linked by the media since.
Max Allegri and Luciano Spalletti have also been mentioned as potential ‘dream options’ for Milan, but one name that keeps cropping up is that of Gattuso.
Rino managed Milan for 61 Serie A games, winning 30 and losing just 12 before leaving at the end of last season, and La Gazzetta dello Sport have offered an update on his potential return (via Calciomercato.com ).
They report that Andriy Shevchenko and Rudi Garcia are ‘among the most popular names’, but the latter is already in contact with other big clubs.
Ranieri is also mentioned as an option, but as for Gattuso the paper states he would only consider a return if a proposal came to him directly from the club.
