There are many recommended items, starting with Eduardo Camavinga, the 17-year-old Rennes midfielder who was reported when no one knew him yet.

🎙️ Speaking on Sky Sports 24, Gianluca Zambrotta

"A player who has impressed me a lot lately is certainly Theo Hernandez of AC Milan. He gave that extra boost to a team that had to climb the slope. A player with a great personality and great technique, he is the backer I love." TeamMilanAC on Twitter

Eduardo Camavinga has taken Ligue 1 by storm, cementing a spot in the starting eleven of Rennes at the age of 17. In addition to his technical quality, the youngster is displaying a leadership that is rarely seen at his age.

Therefore, as Calciomercato.com’s Fabrizio Romano states, Milan’s plan for the player has changed completely. Every game, there seems to be a new top club present to observe Camavinga, meaning the competition will be fierce.

Real Madrid are leading the charge and have already initiated contact with the player’s entourage, as Zinedine Zidane is keen on bringing in the Frenchman. However, there’s still a long way to go before we can talk about a purchase.

The price of Camavinga, per the reporter, has increased to over €50m and this has made the Rossoneri’s plan very complicated. Their chief scout, Geoffrey Moncada, and his team have been following the player for a long time.

However, it will still require a big investment to snatch the defensive midfielder. As of today, Milan aren’t very keen on these types of deal, looking to rebuild the team with economically efficient deals.

The request of €50m thus becomes very high, while the player would request a salary of over €4m per year. With the Premier League calling, in addition to Real Madrid, it’s more than a complicated scenario for the Rossoneri.

For months now, Ralf Rangnick has been linked with a move to AC Milan, as CEO Ivan Gazidis sees him as the perfect profile for the ‘new Milan’. However, the parties have failed to reach an agreement on the matter.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), Marcelino was the Rossoneri’s first choice when Marco Giampaolo was sacked. However, at the time, the Spaniard didn’t feel like taking over the club.

Now, however, the situation has changed and Rangnick is the first choice. As the reporter states, there have been ups and downs in the negotiations between the parties, but the contacts have always continued.

The main reason behind the lack of an agreement, according to Di Marzio, is the transfer budget. The German manager wants to know the budget in good time and the parties are yet to find an understanding of the matter.

AC Milan will address the contact renewal with captain Alessio Romagnoli soon, a report claims, but Barcelona are waiting at the door.

As Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport reports (via MilanLive) today on newsstands, it will be necessary to keep Romagnoli for the future and Milan are aware of this.

He has provided consistency on the field and with his contract expiring in 2022, it is worth being proactive so as not to have a repeat of the current situation regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Romagnoli, as well as being fundamental, has also proved to be immovable and a workaholic, having taken part in all of the last 32 official matches.

The paper adds that Juventus have been on his trail for a while now with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci ageing, but Barcelona are the club whose pressing is becoming increasingly significant.

The problem is Mino Raiola who will probably try to convince Romagnoli to try another challenge and test himself at a more ambitious and successful club. However the bond between Romagnoli and Milan is strong, so with a solid project the club could convince him.

Romagnoli’s renewal would send an important message in view of the future, but above all it will give confidence to the current squad that there is a vision in place.

AC Milan are still interested in the idea of signing midfielder Florentino Luis from Benfica this summer but face competition from Spain, a report claims.

We revealed in January that contacts are underway with the Portuguese side for Florentino, with Milan wanting to sign him on the basis of an 18-month loan with the right to buy.

Our mercato expert Vito Angele told us that the Rossoneri have in fact made a bid: a loan with option to buy at €40m, but Benfica used the €120m release clause to demand at least €60m and no deal was done.

However, according to an report from Portuguese outlet Record (via MilanLive), Milan are ready to go back in for the talented 20-year-old once the window reopens.

The Diavolo have tried to bring the player to Italy in the last two windows without success and could even insert Lucas Paqueta into the deal to try lower the cash sum.

However, Milan will have to beat the competition of two Spanish clubs as there is also Real Betis and Sevilla in the running.

*AC Milan are focusing on the signing of midfielder Sandro Tonali as they have identified him as the perfect partner for Ismael Bennacer.*

That is according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti, who addressed the situation in a video on his YouTube channel (via MilanNews). He believes that Tonali will be a focus for the summer window even though his current valuation is €50million, however that could drop to €30-35m given the current circumstances.

The 19-year-old has a contract expiring in 2021 so Cellino will be forced to sell in the summer if he wants to make cash from Tonali, who is also wanted by Juventus and Inter but is the perfect profile for Elliott.

Milan would send a statement by winning the race for Tonali and the idea of pairing the Italy international with Ismael Bennacer in the midfield would be a real statement for the project.

It was reported earlier on Wednesday by SportMediaset that the Rossoneri are keen on signing Tonali, who earlier in the week confirmed that he is still a Milan fan just as he has been since he was young.

AC Milan are moving in advance to sign Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali offering around 30 million plus one player.

Young and talented. And Italian, which certainly doesn’t hurt. AC Milan have set their eye on Sandro Tonali, already one of the best Italian players in circulation.

According to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri have joined the race for the Brescia midfielder, challenging Juventus and Inter. The AC Milan management have decided to focus on the 19-year-old playmaker when the summer transfer window opens.

Tonali has never hidden the fact that he is an AC Milan fan something that favors the Rossoneri in the race for his services. Milan want to make the youngster their midfield linchpin guaranteeing him a first-minute starter role in a year that will lead to the European Championship.

According to reports by Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it) AC Milan are offering a figure of €25-30 million and one young player to Brescia. Goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzari or defender Matteo Gabbia could play for Brescia next season or even both. After being named the best player of Serie B last season, Tonali has made 23 appearances this season in Serie A scoring one goal and assisting five.

Signing Sandro Tonali will certainly be easy for Milan because other European rich clubs like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in him, in addition to Juventus and Inter. Juventus have been pressing Brescia for months now, while the Inter are currently in second row.

AC Milan are keeping on Marseille winger Florian Thauvin who will certainly be one of the biggest bargains in the summer.

Florian Thauvin is ready to leave Marseille in the summer. The 27-year-old right winger is determined to change club after a whole season spent away from the pitch. Thauvin’s contract expires on 30 June 2021 and if Marseille don’t sell him in the summer they risk losing him for free next year.

Until a few months ago the Europe’s biggest clubs had set their sights on the French talent but after a long absence from the pitch many started to lose interest. However, Thauvin continues to be an in-demand player.

Florian Thauvin aims to relaunch his career and earn a a place in the French national team for the European Championships. According to Le10Sport (via MilanLive.it), AC Milan are keeping tabs on Florian Thauvin. Thauvin’s time at Marseille has been excellent scoring 78 goals and assisting 51 in 237 appearances.

The Rossoneri will have to watch out for the Italian competition from Roma but also from Valencia and English clubs. Despite being injured for one year Thauvin returned to play football in the last match of Ligue 1 before the Coronavirus stop.

Milan plan to agree new deals with Romagnoli and Rebic. Romagnoli’s salary could rise to €4.5-5M/year while the club could agree terms with Rebic (currently earns €3M) before redeeming him from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Galliani: 'Two Milan regrets'

Adriano Galliani has revealed his two biggest regrets as Milan CEO – passing up Alessandro Del Piero and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Galliani spent 31 years managing Milan with Silvio Berlusconi, building five European Cup-winning teams between 1986 and 2017.
“Milan were having financial problems at the time of our arrival, but the team already had good foundations in place,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We signed Gullit and Van Basten right away and, the following year, Rijkaard also arrived. We already had a great defence and added more champions to the squad.
“Kaka has always remained in my heart. Shevchenko was immense, but the same goes for Ronaldinho, Weah, Boban, Savicevic…. There are so many I still have an affinity towards.
For all of his successes in the transfer market, the 75-year-old confessed there were two glaring misses.
“Tevez was supposed to arrive, but he never turned up. We’d already done a deal for Roberto Baggio five years before his arrival at Milan.
“We also tried to take Del Piero before he went to Juventus, and he’s one of the two players I most regret not signing.
“Padova offered him to us but wanted 5bn lira, a very big fee for such a young lad, and we weren’t convinced.
“The same goes for Cristiano Ronaldo: he was 16 and Sporting CP asked us for something like 16 or 17bn.
“We also courted Totti for a long time, but he never wanted to leave Roma.”
The sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain was considered the beginning of Milan’s demise, and Galliani admitted the striker stopped talking to him for a while.
“We already looked at him when he was still at Ajax, but back then he didn’t score many goals.
“He improved a lot under Capello and [assistant Italo] Galbiati, and in 2006 we found an agreement with him.
“However, we found ourselves dealing with Calciopoli and therefore everything fell through.
“I sold him in 2012 and he didn’t talk to me for some time, in part because I promised I’d never sell him.
“It was all due to budgetary reasons, the same reasons we also had to sell Thiago Silva.”

Atalanta best player offered to Milan twice

Posted on April 13, 2020 by Rossonero

In two different occasions in the past Atalanta playmaker Josip Ilicic has been offered to AC Milan who rejected his services.

Josip Ilicic is one of the many players that coach Gian Piero Gasperini has managed to transform at Atalanta into an absolute star. The current seasons is without a doubt Ilicic and Atalanta’s best. The Slovenian playmaker is 32-years-old and is experiencing the best years of his career.

The Slovenian attacking midfielder was brought to Italy from Palermo in summer 2010 together with his compatriot Armin Bacinovic, who is now without a club. After three seasons in Sicily, Ilicic moved to Fiorentina and spent four years there. In 2017, Atalanta signed him for less than 6 million euros.

Sporting director Giorgio Perinetti in an interview with Radio Musica Television (via MilanLive.it), revealed a backstory concerning Josip Ilicic: “In the past I offered him to Filippo Inzaghi’s Milan. Now I think he will have important requests from top European clubs in the summer. However, in the past he was one of those players gifted with extraordinary talent but lacked continuity“.

Perinetti is referring to the 2014/2015 season, when Milan was coached by Filippo Inzaghi. That team did well in the first half of the championship, but then collapsed in the second. Ilicic played for Fiorentina and there he often faced criticisms for lacking continuity in his performances. Few expected him to become the footballer we are admiring today.

The former Palermo and Fiorentina was also offered to AC Milan a second time but again the Rossoneri rejected his services. After a historic third spot last season, Atlanta are again in the top four. Atlanta stunned Europe scoring 8 goals against Valencia and qualifying for the quarter-finals of Champions League. In one of those game Josip Ilicic scored 4 goals while in total he has found the back of the net on 21 occasions and has provided 9 assists in 29 appearances.

5 Real Madrid players on AC Milan’s radar

Posted on April 13, 2020 by Rossonero

AC Milan will shop again at Real Madrid in the summer with five Los Blancos players on the Rossoneri’s radar in search for new Theo Hernandez’s.

Theo Hernandez is certainly AC Milan’s best summer signing. The French fullback took Serie A by storm earning praise from everyone but it was not so at the beginning with many claiming that Milan were doing Real Marid a favor by signing a finished player. A great signing at €20 million and Milan will try to repeat a similar operation this summer with 5 players targeted by the Rossoneri.

The Italian press reports that a number of players who failed to establish themselves at Real Madrid like Brahim Diaz, Alvaro Odriozola, Mariano Diaz, Luka Jovic and Dani Ceballos could soon join AC Milan.

In the summer Real Madrid spent €60 million to buy Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt but the Serbian striker has been a huge flop scoring just 2 goals. He was supposed to be Karim Benzema’s replacement but due to his disappointing performances he will leave in the summer. His market value has dipped to 30-40 million.

After a fine season at Lyon, Mariano Diaz failed to establish himself at Real and is available for 15 million. Former Manchester City attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz is reportedly available for 18 million. The Spanish starlet will surely leave, either on loan or on a permanent transfer.

Dani Ceballos was very close to joining Milan last summer. The transfer failed because the Rossoneri refused to sign Ceballos with a buy-back clause in favor of Real Madrid. The Spanish midfielder thus joined Arsenal on loan but when he returns he must find a new club.

Alvaro Odriozola is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. Next season he must face the competition of Hakimi e Carvajal for a starting spot on the right. He is available for 15 million and Milan hope he could be the Theo Hernandez of the right flank.

Former Milan star sets record straight on what happened before 2005 collapse vs. Liverpool.

Former AC Milan defender Jaap Stam has shed some light on what happened at half-time during the 2005 Champions League final.
The game against Liverpool in Istanbul is one which is a painful one for Milanisti to relive as the Rossoneri let slip a three-goal lead to be eventually denied their seventh Champions League win on penalties.
It has been previously claimed that there were celebrations in the Milan dressing room at half time with the team 3-0 up, but Paolo Maldini recently gave an account of what actually went on during the break and quashed those rumours.
The former Rossoneri captain actually revealed that there were arguments in the changing rooms, and now Jaap Stam has given his version of events during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“A nightmare. In 1999 I won the ‘treble’ with United, but they always ask me what happened at the interval with Liverpool,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).
“Stories have been around for years, all false. Ancelotti told us to keep our guard up, but we conceded 3 goals in 6 minutes and we never recovered.”
