*Govt gives all-clear to Serie A training*

The Italian Government has given the all-clear for training to resume in centres from Monday, after several regions opened up their gates.

The original decree had differentiated between athletes in team sports and those with individual disciplines, such as tennis or athletics, even if the form of exercise was identical.

With some regional assemblies opening up the training centres from May 4 rather than waiting until May 18, the Government accepted it was not fair to continue limiting some areas rather than others.

Clubs and the Players’ Association successfully argued their case that it is far safer to run inside a training ground where social distancing can be guaranteed rather than have professional athletes run in a local park.

However, La Repubblica report that the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte could still pull the plug on the 2019-20 Serie A season on Wednesday, depending on the outcome of the latest meeting.

All 20 clubs voted that they wish to complete the campaign, so it is just about agreeing on the medical protocol.

Serie A hope to rely on the fact the Spanish and German models are similar, with the added bonus that Italy has vast testing capacity, having been the first European country to be struck by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Italy is also starting a wide-ranging study with 150,000 blood tests around the country to identify how many people developed antibodies and therefore had the coronavirus, perhaps without any symptoms.

Rangnick to Mitteldeutsche Zeitung: “There has been an interest from Milan, but with the coronavirus there have been other things to consider, besides thinking if Ralf Rangnick was the right man for them and vice versa.”

Rangnick: “Financial aspects do not interest me. For me it's about having a certain influence, which has nothing to do with power, even if in certain situations you need it to carry on certain things.“

Mediaset: Rangnick drops big hint on WhatsApp that AC Milan move is imminent.

AC Milan look close to finally getting the green light from Ralf Rangnick regarding a role at the club ahead of next season, a report claims.
There have been widespread reports in the media that Rangnick is set to take on a role at Milan this summer which could be either head coach or sporting director, or possibly even both.
The German himself recently admitted that the Rossoneri have shown an interest in his services, and SportMediaset (via MilanLive) on Tuesday reiterates that Ralf Rangnick will be Milan’s next coach.

There hasn’t been an official investiture yet, but Gordon Singer is waiting for him in London to definitively close the deal. The meeting was postponed because of the Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the German manager continues to study the Italian language and – according to what reported by the journalist Claudio Raimondi – on WhatsApp the former RB Leipzig and Schalke boss has set his status as a sentence in Italy. A sign of his future arrival in Milan.

📰 Claudio Raimondi: Ralf Rangnick receives and evaluates several profiles where he would play the dual role of coach and manager. Among the players the German would like to bring to AC Milan: Szoboszlai, Upamecano, Mandragora, Götze, Jovic and Dani Olmo.

Former RB Leipzig defender reveals exactly what Milan can expect from Ralf Rangnick

AC Milan can expect a clear identity and a man who wants full control over all aspects of recruitment if they are to hire Ralf Rangnick, according to one of his former players.

The rumours that Rangnick will be Milan’s next head coach and/or sporting director are getting stronger and stronger – so much so that he is now the favourite to take over from Stefano Pioli at leading bookmakers such as SPBOBET.

MilanNews spoke to Marvin Compper, a defender who worked with Rangnick for seven years between spells at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, and we have translated below.

What memories do you have of Rangnick? “I worked 7 years with him, he is a man who can bring an identity to a club. He did it at Hoffenheim, in Leipzig, also at Schalke and he showed many qualities.”

How were the workouts with him? Was he a very rigid and tactical person? “He is very clear, if the players follow him, they quickly learn his style. His teams have always been recognisable. Training and his tactical ideas were always very clear and this was seen on the field.”

Could he be the right profile for Milan? “He may be a profile for Milan because the Rossoneri in the past few years have tried to go back and return to high levels, but they have not succeeded.

“When I was at Fiorentina I exchanged the shirt with a Milan player and there was the writing ‘The most titled club in the world’. To go back to being so important, you need a new start in terms of identity and style.

On his possible role: “I think he is more useful as a coach at the beginning. In Leipzig he started as director, and when he did not find a right technician he did both roles.

“He was fine, we went up to the Bundesliga and managed to find a coach in Ralph Hasenhüttl. If he arrives at Milan, I believe that at the beginning he can serve more as a coach.

Could he also be important for market choices? “He would be very important because he always has a complete view of things, he thinks of everything. It is not enough for him to coach, he must also choose the profile of the players to coach.”

Could the emergency linked to the Coronavirus situation slow things down? “I don’t know, I think this situation has slowed everything down. There is uncertainty about the upcoming season.

“Even in Germany, in the third division, we resumed training 5 weeks ago: we started in groups of 5 and now we train in 10. In three weeks we think we can go back to playing, hoping to be able to start again seriously.”

Is it true that for his offensive game he was inspired by Arrigo Sacchi? “I think Sacchi had a great influence on him. I saw his AC Milan matches, but it was another era. But I can say that the game of Rangnick’s teams is always very intense.

“It also calculated how much space to leave to opponents. He studied their way of playing, and therefore we at different times of the game pressed or left the other team on the basis of what we prepared in training.”

📰 TMW : Milan had asked Gaetano Castrovilli in return. Fiorentina could make an offer of a loan with option to purchase or a two-year loan obligation to purchase for Lucas Paquetá. There might be a discussion for Bartłomiej Drągowski if Donnarumma leaves Milan. TeamMilanAC on Twitter

AC Milan are competing with two other teams for Lokomotiv Moscow’s star twin duo Anton and Aleksey Miranchuk.
That is according to a report on Calciomercato.com – who cite Sport Express in stating that Roma, Milan and Sevilla are all keen on signing the aforementioned duo.

The Rossoneri tried to sign Aleksey on loan with an option to buy in January, albeit unsuccessfully, while according to Portuguese outlet A Bola both Roma and Sevilla are in contact with Lokomotiv for the Miranchuk twins.

The Muscovites, however, have made it known that they want at least €15million for each player, therefore a total of €30m to prise the pair away.

Aleksey plays as an attacking midfielder and has amassed nine goals and five assists in 24 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Lokomotiv, while his brother has two goals and one assist in 12 appearances and can play either the same position or as a winger. Both are 24 years of age.

Fabio Capello speaking as a guest of Rai Radio1, at Un Giorno da Pecora : "Milan? I'd like to understand where is the club going. A bit like our government. Who is worse between the government and the Rossoneri? Milan has not yet moved, the government is moving around on all sides without a clear line.So paradoxically is AC Milan in a better condition? Absolutely yes (joked) "
