Bu'yaka in fact I believe "Hodgepodge of potpourri" is OK as long as you remove the "a" part....

Kwa nini "hodgepodge of potpourri" iwe sahihi lakini "hodgepodge of a potpourri" isiwe sahihi?

Nikiwa na a potpourri, nikaja nikalichanganya zaidi ki- hodgepoge, hiyo si "hodgepodge of a potpourri" ?

Even 'hodgepodge of potpourri' is still tautological.

It is just the same as saying 'beginner who has just started'.

Remember, it's not grammatically incorrect. It's just repetition in a way that is not necessary.

Mtazamaji umedata wewe. Eti nini?

Na msosi huo does not qualify kuitamka "a potpourri" as opposed to "potpourri"

Nikichukulia Potporri kama hio tafsiri ya Ngabu ule ukamilisho wa huo mchanganyiko ndo waitwa "a potpourri" Hivo Hodgepodge yaweza tumika kama ulivo itumia "Hodgepodge of a potpourri"

Ila take note I took it for granted kua you meant the first Potpourri for it has more hodgepodges' than the second popourri

hodge·podge /ˈhɑ:ʤˌpɑ:ʤ/ noun

[singular] chiefly US : a mixture of different things
▪ a hodgepodge of styles -called also (Brit) hotchpotch

pot·pour·ri /ˌpoʊpʊˈri:/ noun

▪ The festival was a musical potpourri-performances included folk, jazz, blues, and rap music. - often + of ▪ The book is a potpourri [=assortment, medley] of stories about family, religion, and food.

Mbona hizo ni definitions mbili tofauti?

Ngabu it may seem tautological when siphoned literally.... They are two separate entities having an almost similar "meaning in the mind perceiving" but completely different as much as both are on the basis of the disorderliness of the entity itself.

So you are saying that I'm wrong, correct?

Right on! Right on!

But what do I know...?

Nyerere

Kama kweli alisema hivyo, ninakubaliana naye.

Hivyo eeh? Haya basi nimekosea.

Kumbe elimu kupitia mtandao ina challenge zake. Hapa sasa kweli nimetada sijaelewa wich is right or wich is left kwa hiyo hojipiji of pot pouri .

So you are saying that I'm wrong, correct?

Saying YES you are wrong would be too general and it would be a wrong answer.... Your post carries weight on the following.

  1. Hodgepodge can not be used with (a) Potpourri.
  2. You gave an example of "beginner who started" it is an unfair example to the matter.
  3. I qoute: "t's not grammatically incorrect. It's just repetition in a way that is not necessary"

I would say YES you are wrong to think tha "Hodgepodge and Potpourri" can not be used in the same line.
I would say NO you are not wrong with numbe 2 & 3

Kuna watu wengine inabidi tu kuwakubalia aisee. Chochote atakachosema we unakubali tu.

Nikiwa na potpourri nikaifinyanga kui-hodgepodge sijapata "hodgepodge of a potpourri"?

Hapana, ni kweli they are different, usijidai kuyeyusha, ndo zetu wabongo, ama sijui miafrika!
