Serie A Preview: Juventus - Roma

The Bianconeri are in pole position in Serie A and will be determined to put further distance between themselves and the chasing pack when they face the Giallorossi this weekend.

Juventus can equal the 10-match winning run achieved by title rival Roma at the start of the season when the two sides meet Sunday. Rudi Garcia's charges opened the season with 10 successive victories to set a new Italian top-flight record from the start of a campaign, but their hosts this weekend are threatening to surpass that mark. Since a 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina in October, Juventus has been unstoppable in the league, winning nine consecutive games and keeping clean sheets in all but one - a 4-1 triumph at Atalanta last time out.

The club's form has also seen it surge to the top of the table as it chases a third consecutive Serie A crown, and it goes into its first game since the winter break five points clear of Roma in second.

The Giallorossi do not have recent history on their side, having won just two of the last 16 fixtures between the sides. Andrea Pirlo could be in line for a place in the matchday squad for Juve after recovering from a knee injury, though the fixture may come too soon for him, while Marco Borriello remains a doubt for Roma. Juve will be relieved to have Carlos Tevez in contention after the Argentine was late coming back from his homeland over the new year, with reports suggesting he was caring
for his pregnant wife.

Marcello Lippi believes Juventus lack the quality to challenge for top honours in Europe and thinks it is unlikely any Serie A team will win the Champions League in the next decade.

The reigning Italian champions failed to get out of the group stage this season as Real Madrid and Galatasaray proved to be too strong, after last term's elimination to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

And Lippi forecasts the disappointing trend for Italian clubs to continue for the foreseeable future.

"The current Juventus has a lot of quality, enough to win the Serie A title again," Lippi was quoted as saying by Tuttosport.

"But they are still missing something to be successful in Europe. Generally speaking, I think that it will be very difficult for any Italian team to win the Champions League in the next 10 years or so."

The current Guangzhou Evergrande coach then went on to discuss the potential departure of Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba and reminded the Juventus faithful that the Bianconeri regularly cashed in on key players during his time at the club.

He added: "I don't know whether Juventus will sell Pogba or Vidal at the end of the season. All I know is that my Juventus sold one or two important players each year..."

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, while Vidal has caught the attention of a number of Premier League club

Lippi anaongea ukweli,soka la Italy kwa sasa ni ngumu sana kushindana na ligi nyingine.Juve ndio timu ilikuwa inategemewa sana lakini wamechemsha vibaya na still future ya wachezaji wao muhimu (Pogba,Vidal,Marchisio ) haileweki.Angalia timu za England,Spain,France na Germany then linganisha na klabu za Italy

Ni ngumu sana na usishangae Ac Milan akishinda next round atapangwa na Bayern/PSG au Madrid.Ukiangalia Bayern,PSG,Barca,Madrid,Chelsea,Man City,Arsenal wana timu za ku-compete kwa miaka 3 ijayo.But Italy hakuna timu kama hiyo,backbone ya Juve (Buffon,Barzagli,Quagriela,Chielini,Pirlo,Vucinic,Tevez) wana miaka zaidi ya 30
