Baada ya kuwaeka kwa miaka 30, wengine ni watu wazima na hawajawai kanyaga somalia, tena wengine wanazidi kuongezeka, alafu mbaya zaidi, magaidi wa westgate walitumia hio kambi kama njia ya kuingilia kenya ....... kenya kuna watu 21,000 ambao wanaitwa stateless people, hawana nchi ya kurudi... tuko na refugees wa kutika south sudan,burundi hata DRC...... kuna wengine tunasoma nao huku walikuja ule wakati wa vita vya hutu. a tutsi hawajawai rudi.... so kama nilivyosema, hilo ni jambo la kawaida kwetu

Kenya has donated $1 million (Sh91 million) to Malawi flood victims, Foreign Affairs principal secretary Dr Karanja Kibicho has said.
Dr Kibicho said Kenya identifies with the people and the Government of Malawi over the unexpected disaster that has befallen the country.
“We commiserate with the people of Malawi following unexpected flooding that has killed and rendered thousands others homeless. Kenya is offering a little hand to help in humanitarian effort,” said Dr Kibicho Friday morning

The South Sudan capital of Juba has returned to relative calm, which has allowed dialogue to kick in.
A Ministerial delegation from the development agency IGAD is already in Juba and has started mediation between the parties involved.
Our own Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Amina Mohamed, is in that team.
As a neighbour with knowledge of the South Sudan and who has worked closely with the government there, the government has sent additional mediators to help with the dialogue.
They include General (Rtd) Elijah Sumbeiywo, as well Amb. Bethwel Kiplagat, Rev. Julius Kobia, Hon. Dalmas Otieno, Amb. Elijah Matibo and Hon Mark Too.
Despite the relative calm in Juba, a number of other South Sudan towns have come under fire, and as a result, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), has now ordered the KDF to commence immediate evacuation of the one thousand six hundred (1,600) Kenyans stranded in South Sudan.
The Kenyans are mainly in the town of Bor, in Jonglei State. There are also Kenyans in the towns of Rumbek, Ayod, and Panyabol, who will also be airlifted to safety.
The President has also ordered the immediate delivery of food, water and medicine to South Sudan to assist tackle the emergency.
The delivery of these emergency supplies started this morning. Kenyan military aircraft are delivering consignments to South Sudan.

Why? and what if Kenya and Tanzania are invaded and Uganda has to make a decision which of the two to assist?

Why? Tanzanians dont have that much liking for Kenyans. Tanzania may only rush to assist Kenya in order to safeguard its interests. I.e. to offset adverse political, economic or security consequences on its territory that may arise due to the troubles in Kenya. Otherwise, Tanzanians generally despise Kenyans.
C'mon, let us not kid each other here (cc Bavaria), Tanzania was only compelled to intervene in the Kenya's 2007/08 chaos cos
a)the downfall of Kenya would have had a very negative impact on the Tanzania's economy, since Tz's economy is still greatly anchored on Kenya's
b)the violence in Kenya had the risk of spilling over into the other regions within the east and central Africa region. Tanzania too would have definately borne the brunt of the violence in Kenya, ie the proliferation of small arms into the country, having to deal with refugees from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi , DRC and Uganda.
Tanzania would on the other hand all too readily and unconditionally rush to defend Mozambique, even without any likelihood of the above repercussion following in the Mozambique conflict.

seriously? Actually the opposite is true for (i) that crisis would have availed an opportunity for many of the companies and institutions in Kenya to cross and establish themselves in Tanzania esp. in Arusha! If u remember the statement from the leadership at UNON they said they will decamp to Arusha if the violence and insecurity persisted! the only problem is we did not want to start hosting refugees from Kenya in our Northern circuit a plum of our tourism!

Uganda would rather try to save us both, they arent likely to exercise bias towards either Kenya or Tanzania.
However, they would be constrained to rather first attempt to save Kenya in order to open up the supply route for essential commodities into their country. A move which would greatly upset Tanzania.
