The African Union Commission has postponed to January the election of a new chairperson who will take over from the Dlamini-Zuma led administration.

This was as a result of the non-attainment of the two-thirds majority by all the three candidates fielded for the position.

There are three candidates vying for the position of African Union chairperson: Specioza Wandira Kazibwe, former Ugandan vice president, Pelonomi Venson Moitoi, Botswana Foreign Minister, and Agapito Mba Mokuy, Equatorial Guinea Foreign Minister.

During the first round of the election, the Botswana candidate got 16 votes, Equatorial Guinea, 12 votes, and Uganda’s candidate got 11 votes, reports indicate.

The spokesperson for the current chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has hinted via Twitter that the election has been postponed till the next summit in January.

1. Kenya is NOT in a conflict with Somalia.
2. Every country has a right to chart its own development path. AU res 2063 is not a template for anyone's development on the continent either, its just a fancy declaration.
3. Don't think you can make a stupid declaration and dress it up as a fact. Back it up.
4. Language is a communication tool. Choose the one you are most comfortable in to drive a serious discussion.
5. It's a Sunday and my sermon today was about forgiveness. I don't have the energy for a useless e-fight.
6. Get a life.

We do not want to have weak leaders in Africa. Amina is very weak also the policy of your country is against Agenda 2063.
So Amina cannot be a leader of AU. Also your country still kissing kegs of whites.

Hata mimi nashangaa..............Huku Nairobi hata watu hawana habari Amina anataka kuwa mkuu wa AU ilhali jambo lenyewe haliwatoki wabongo midomoni. Wakenya hujali sana politics za ndani sio za nje. Wengi wa Wakenya hata hawajui Mukhisa Kitui ndiye secretary General wa UNCTAD.

Mbona mnafuatilia kila kitu rais wa Kenya anafanya? Hivi hata Rais wa Kenya akienda choo mtafungua uzi? Rais Kikwete alishinda zamu yake akizunguka ulimwengu na hakuna Mkenya alibabaika kujua ni nini kinachompeleke kwa nchi hii ama ile. Why do you have this obsession with Kenya.
