Agriculture CS Peter Munya has hit back at Tanzania President Magufuli who ordered closure of all borders. President Magufuli did this in retaliation of president Uhuru's orders of cessation of movement in and out of Tanzania to control the spread of COVID-19.

The order from president Magufuli means that Kenya can no longer receive any imports from Tanzania. Hitting back at the president, CS Peter Munya has said that Kenya will not suffer because of the closure. He says that Kenya will find an alternative market from its other neighbors to cater for food supply deficits.

"We don't have only one neighbour. We have Ethiopia and Uganda. Those who will surfer are the ones who were receiving many goods from Kenya" Munya said.

This comes after Munya flagged off 25 tons of potato basic seeds this morning to be distributed to six counties, to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on potato production and improve farmer access to certified seeds.
