Kenyan Security Minister George Saitoti Reported Killed

Not forgetting its damn insensitive to post photos of a human corpse in the guise of proving your point.

PS. Just noted the person who posted that photo here is a mod, are moral standards here that low?

^^ someone can do an entire investigation and come up with serious conclusions based on nothing more than a single photo? guys, you're getting desperate!

P.S. all this stuff about helicopters being easy to take care of in an emergency is nonsense!

I believe you will be better served if you addressed your queries to Mutahi Ngunyi and the other
Kenyan conspiracy theorists.

I'm simply re-posting whats on KUMEKUCHA...a Kenyan website. I believe you can take your
questions about morality to them and they might have a better answer....being fellow Kenyans.

i won't be surprised if the investigation confirms the chopper crash to be the work of the hands of GEMA...

You think that picture has been manipulated by some conspiracy theorists? Why are you being so subjective. Do you want the truth to be hidden? What kind of morals are you talking about?

I bet you will outgrow your naivety one day, happens all the time.

We are commenting on what is on JF, when i need to go to Kumekucha i will let you know

That's a sign of someone who is losing an argument. Such people normally resort to this type of language!

Your analysis may score you some points maybe if you are here for a contest, but the moment we display a body of your loved one to score some cheap points my point will sink home.

If you think there are no morals involved why do you think tv stations took the flak from viewers and had to apologize for showing just part of what is displayed here? Not everyone is a dimwit and they understand when unethical issues come into play.

The problem here is (as I see it): you think someone is trying to "score some cheap points", whatever that is. Please beware of paranoia!

Saitoti was No Hero

On the Sunday of 10[SUP]th[/SUP] June 2012, the country woke up to news of a helicopter crash in a nondescript forest called Kibiku near Ngong. A dramatic start to a week that would prove very eventful and illustrative of Kenya’s compulsive selective amnesia. The television networks scrapped the Sunday gospel music shows and maintained a constant flow of information. A minister, his assistant, their bodyguards and two pilots had perished en route to a small town in rural Kenya.

Comrades in politics cancelled their engagements to turn up at the accident scene to gawk at the charred site and more specifically to face the cameras and hog the microphones. Their P.R. handlers were earning their salaries! The incident was trending on social media, generic condolences updated. State House released a glowing tribute and declared three days of national mourning with flags to fly at half-mast. A special meeting of the cabinet was scheduled pronto.

The political class in true fashion put aside their differences and agreed to sing from the same music sheet. The flock they lead on cue provided the chorus and the country sang one collective dirge, accompanied by a plethora of adjectives mourning the departed minister, who was once the country’s vice president.

I’m told it’s unAfrican to speak ill of the dead. Whatever unAfrican means! I wonder why none in the political class could muster the courage to call it as it is. They conveniently chose to eulogize the minister as ‘a hero’, ‘a champion of peace’ and ‘a great astute leader’. Well there is nothing about our leadership to be termed African, nothing but self-aggrandizement. African leadership entails channeling the loot to an offshore account in Jersey, fullstop.

I will not be hypocritical like the rulers of this country. I will not feign some misplaced sense of Africanness and indulge in the selective amnesia we have endured for an entire week. I am not that type of plastic African. The late minister was a corrupt man, spineless at best. A Nyayo sycophant par excellence who kept mum while deputizing for his puppetmaster in a regime that ruled kenyans with terror, driving many to desperation and abject poverty. The minister was completely mum when the Nyayo House torture chambers was filled by cries and wails of those who opposited the rotten regime. Lest we forget he watched through the ethnic schism and conflagrations of Molo, Nakuru, Kisii, Transmara, Mount Elgon, and Likoni. He was central to the plot, infact dramatis personae extraordinaire to the tragedy called Moi’s administration. Nobody should fool us calling him a hero, not even his fellow Moi orphans overflowing with embellished tributes.

His hand was deep in the cookie jar that was Goldenberg, the scandal in which our country lost billions in export of fictitious gold and diamonds not mined within our borders. In 2004, after years of court manoeuvres laced with the usual lawyer tricks – adjournments, voluminous paperwork, delayed service of pleadings – the fresh NARC government appointed a judicial commission whose report recommended the minister’s prosecution. A Judge recently vetted as a government gatekeeper in 2006 heading a three-person bench specifically expunged that part of the report.

MPs have linked the deaths of ministers George Saitoti and Orwa Ojode to drug cartels in shocking claims made in Parliament.

Nominated MP Rachael Shebesh (ODM) said Thursday she has confidential information on how the late Internal Security minister and his assistant met their tragic death 18 days ago in a helicopter crash.

"We have not even said a third of what we know behind the death of our two colleagues," the Member said.

The MP said she has a lot of information but can only say it before a parliamentary select committee.

"Some of the information we have could be something that could shut down this government," she stated.

She spoke as legislators accused government of frustrating investigations into the death of the two, as they linked their death to their roles in investigations into drug trafficking in Kenya.

Kilgoris MP Gideon Konchella claimed foreign investigators in the inquiry team left the country last night due to frustrations.

According to the Member, investigators have been frustrated by the government that has failed to facilitate the team. On the spot is the Ministry of Transport which is accused of being uncooperative.

The MPs raised concern a day after Prof Saitoti's family complained about delay in the start of the public inquiry into the crash.

Prof Saitoti's family brought in private investigators from South Africa and according to Mr Konchella, they have been frustrated.

Transport minister Amos Kimunya, however, clashed with the MP saying the South African team was only meant to be in the country for a few days.

Smell like a skunk

MPs questioned whether there is a deliberate effort to frustrate the truth about the tragic crash with Narok South MP Nkoidila Ole Lankas saying there was interference at the scene.

Gem MP and Government chief whip Jakoyo Midiwo added: "If it smells like a skunk it may be a skunk and there may be a skunk," he said.

Gichugu MP Martha Karua asked that Ms Shebesh be given extra security considering the sensitivity of the information she had indicated was in her possession.

Kilome MP John Harun Mwau said Prof Saitoti and Mr Ojode were two serious investigators in the drug issue and may have been ‘silenced' by the conspirators in the drugs syndicate.

"It is possible. And now as we continue, the conspirators could go further and eliminate the Hon members who were adversely mentioned through falsehoods in relation to drugs and claim the drug dealers are getting rid of each other," he said.

Mr Mwau was listed by the US as one of the world's drug kingpins but has been fighting to clear his name.

Look at how Shebesh is fuming in her presentation to Parliament. ...yaani you want to tell me Iteere

"I ask again, where in the world would the person incharge of country's security and his assistant be killed in mysterious ways and the government treat it like its just a normal thing? Saitoti and Ojodeh were busy fighting the drug barons and Al shabab and any of these elements could have played a part in their demise. The moment they were killed, the government should have gone into overdrive and to hunt down the killers. As for Kabogo and Mwau asking questions here, I am dumbfounded."

This was planned, mathew iteere on fire,he has to tell kenyans and the whole world what went wrong.

"Our government always FAILS us and embarrasses us so much. How could they not even facilitate accommodation for the foreign investigators who they invited. Its a lost cause anyway, the scene was not secured and residents and politicians who rushed to the scene trampled over the little evidence that was there. Shebesh is a noise maker tho. I dont think she has anything to offer"

funny thing nikuwa watu wengi wanataka lazimisha kuwa waliouwawa wote ktk historia ya kenya, waliuwawa na muuaji mmoja.

the good thing is none of us will try to attack AFP or the Western media about this problem just for the sake of protecting tourism! this shows how how idiot u r...

I don’t like confrontations especially with low-lifes like you, but I bet it’s high time someone puts you where you belong; a dim-witted hoodlum. When people try to have a fruitful debate, you come up your idiotic way of thinking.

I bet you are the kind of a man that you could use as a blueprint to build an idiot.
