Tetesi: KQ yaongeza Hasara mara mbili hadi Ksh 7.5b kutoka billioni 4 mwaka jana😆😆

That accident will be paid for by the insurer.
Na hii hasara kubwa utaingoja hadi ukufe. KQ losses are only going down.

Last year they changed their reporting schedule. But analyst calculated the loss to be about Sh10.2 billion full year.

The previous year it was Sh26 billion. Very incredible progress.
You allude to car insurance yet seems that you have never owned a car, or insured one.
1) KQ is to blame, coz of their drunkardness and negligence
2) Even if insurance pays
-a) KQ must pay "excess" which is 15% of repair
-b)Premiums will be hiked for the next year

Sasa kama hizo gharama zote zipo chini, vipi KQ inaendelea kupata hasara year in year out?, basi ninyi ni failed state original, kama mambo yote hapo ni OK, but nothing works, then ninyi Mungu amewalaani.

Fleet ownership wewe umeilewa kumaanisha nini?

Fleet ownership has several components.

1. Leasing cost
2. Insurance
3. Maintenance

The only difference between KQ na ATCL for example ni kwa point number one... Leasing cost.

ATCL (government) will spend $300 million buying, while KQ will spend a small fraction of that leasing.

Otherwise, both ATCL and KQ also have insurance and maintenance cost.

Lol. You are accusing me of never owning a car.. 😂😂😂
If you've owned one, or insured one, you would know of something called 'excess cover'. Which protects you from paying the 'excess'.

Also, accidents rarely translate to hiked premiums.

''Ukinunua ndege zako mwenyewe by cash''. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. Wacha nisikucheke.

There is nothing like "excess cover" By law the insured must pay excess on repairs, excess cover is just marketing jargon while in actual sense the excess is compounded into the premiums and in case it falls short of the 15% the client still pays the balance

Hahahahaha, usirukeruke
1)Leasing costs 80%
2) Maintenance costs 15%
3) Insurance 5%

Always leasing cost ndio kubwa katika hill eneo. Kumbuka kwamba "the higher the number of fleet on lease, the bigger the cost", KQ ina idadi kubwa ya ndege za kukodi, wanalipa pesa nyingi kwa mwaka.

I'll not even bother arguing.
As someone who the 'non-existent' excess cover has helped a couple of time, I don't know what I'm talking about.

I've had several mishaps, and I've always been saved from any out of pocket spending additions by this cheap excess protection cover.

ATCL is 100% owned by the government, but it is not the government. 2 different entities.
It should be allowed to operate like an airline, not like a government air wing.

It should be allowed to make business decisions with its own internal cash, not going back to the government with its losses every time.

ATCL should be left to source for its own planes, take bank loans etc... Otherwise what you are describing is not an airline but a government air wing.. similar to the airforce.

Kenya Airways current liabilities exceeded Its current assets by KShs 101.540 million

They are much better off than a certain national carrier that has a negative equity. To clear any doubt; negative equity means total liabilities exceed total assets.
Or put it this way; mmoja ni mgonjwa lakini mwingine kafa.

In 2017, KQ spent about $340 million to lease 20 planes.
That's the cost of a single dreamliner.

Sasa, leasing na buying, which is expensive?

Alafu, KQ did not specify which aspect of fleet ownership was expensive.
Maybe maintenance cost went up. Maybe insurance went up.
Maybe leasing was just the normal price.

Hahahahaha, doesn't matter how you call it, so long as it achieves the goals, which are
1) To provide better and affordable air transport services inside and outside the country
2)It is operated profitably
3)It gives dividend to the Government
4)It stimulate our economy by bringing more tourists and investment.
These are our goals, we will achieve better if it will be 100% owned by Government like Ethiopia Airways.
