Most of these houses were built nearly 40 years ago (in 70's)! If you want to see ultra modern Dar Es Salaam, come and I will take you to places and see the typical modern houses...

A railway station is not a dormitory where you expect people to sleep there. Its a place to wait for a locomotive to arrive, embark and leave. So you dont need such a big buiding on places where its not a terminal place...

Are you saying that Nairobi did not exist 40 years ago?
How comes most of Nairobi has modern structures while most of Dar looks like that?

Nairobi existed 40 yrs ago. But people were not living on houses like that found in Dar. It was mud houses so those houses did not survive forty years later like ones in Dar!

Hata Yapi Markez watajenga vituo vikubwa Dar Dom na Moro kutokana na mahitaji, ukiangalia hiyo ya Mjerumani utaona kigoma stesheni ni kubwa kwakua kuna bandari ambayo ilikuwa inatumika Rwanda na Burundi (nchi moja wakati huo). Lakini ile ya Pungu ilikuwa ndogo kutokana na mahitaji madogo.

Ni kweli kabisa tunajenga hovyo sana,hapa nyumba kali ya kisasa ila imezungukwa na vibanda umiza hivyo inakosa uthamani wake, na ndivyo itavyokuwa kwenye hii project along the line esp Dar area mandhari haitaivutia otherwise kuje program ya maboresho majengo kama ya Rwanda no kuezeka nyasi
