Wewe ni shabiki tu kama geza. Ukipewa facts unaropokwa kinachokufurahisha moyoni.

Tanzania is still taking 144,000 tonnes from Msa Port.
And we are transiting cargo for Burundi, Rwanda & Drc who all share borders with Tanzania and not Kenya . Mmelala mahali amkeni
Very true, Mombasa is bigger than Dar es salaam, Tanga, Mtwara combined. Just got some details on both.

Dar es salaam port: 11 berths.Berths number 1 to 7 has a depth between 8.7 and 10.5 meters for general cargo vessels.Berths No. 8 to 11 have an average depth of 11.0 meters and are will be dedicated to container vessels (Under construction by Tanzania International Container Terminal Services .(TPA Handbook, 2018). No post panamax vessel has called on this port due to a channel depth of 12 metres. For the financial year 2014/15 the port handled 590,763 TEU (2014/15) cargo volume.

Mombasa Port: The main port currently has 19 deepwater berths (2 more under construction by Japan) comprising of 1 bulk grain terminal, 2 oil terminals/jetties, 4 container berths and 12 general cargo berths. Recent investments in modernising handling equipment, dredging of the main entrance channel and widening of the turning basin has enabled larger, modern post panamax vessels to call at the port. Some of the conventional berths can and are used to berth container ships that are self-accentuated / have handling gear (cranes). 2 of the berths are used for berthing passenger ships while 2 handle bulk grain carriers. The conventional berths are therefore mostly multipurpose. Also called Kilindini Harbor, it is a deep-water inlet extending inland from Mombasa, Kenya. It is 45–55 meters at its deepest center, although the controlling depth in the outer channel in the port approaches with a dredged depth of 17.5 metres (57 ft). It is an example of a natural geographic phenomenon called a ria. For the financial year 2014/15 the port handled 1,077,644 TEU cargo volume. This port has seen a consistent growth in cargo at 40% every 4 years.

Mombasa is massive and with the port at Lamu and good port management we stand to benefit from Africa’s take off.

Hiyo lamu port iko Kama ile ya pale Msimbati kwenda Mafia. Bado sana kuji upgrade kufikia port ya kueleweka.

Halafu bagamoyo port bado mchina kaikalia.

Tayari ni flue mkoo hoi Kenya mzima hadi ku cut transit oil price into half!

Kenya commence construction of US $68m Naivasha Dry Port

Construction of the US $68m Naivasha Dry Port has started. Naivasha Sub-county Commissioner Mathioya Mbogo made the announcement and said that that the commencement comes after the Cabinet’s approval of the budget for the development.

The Naivasha dry port project
The Naivasha dry port project aims to boost standard gauge railway operations. It will sit on a 1,000-acre piece of land in Kedong ranch. The project features an inland container depot, railway marshalling yard, logistics zone and public utility area. The road linking the port to the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is nearly complete. Mathioya Mbogo affirmed that families that were living on the project site are currently being resettled in a 4,000 acres of land provided by Kedoche ranch.

Investors are lining up and Lamu port is moving full steam ahead in spite of the lamentations of the nay sayers.
