Andy Carroll has accused Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers of lying to him as he forced the burly centre-forward out of Anfield.

In a candid interview with The Times, Carroll tells of how Rodgers would say one thing to on the phone, only to lack the bravery to then say it to the Geordie striker's face.

"With Brendan Rodgers, there was a lot going on," explains the West Ham man, whose form of late has helped propel the east Londoners up the Premier League table.

"What he was saying to me and what was actually happening [were different things].


Contrast: Rodgers was very different in person

"He was telling me one thing to my face, then I'd leave the training ground and he would ring me and tell me a completely different thing.




"He would say: 'You're going to play every week, you're going to play every game up front with [Luis] Suarez. I'd leave and get home and he would ring me and say: 'Fulham and West Ham want you and I think it's best you should go.'

"I would go back and see him and he would say the opposite again. It was the same thing round and round and round. On phone calls, it was: 'I think you should go.' To my face it was: 'You'll start every week'.

"It was mixed messages. He was messing with my head. I lost respect for him to be honest."

Liverpool face Carroll's West Ham today, with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce claiming the barrel-chested forward is now worth some £70million.

“It was just messing me about," continued Carroll.

"I was angry. I knew it was time to go. I thought I just want to play football. I didn’t need this. Under Brendan I knew I was never going to play, with what he was saying to me.

“If he had said straightaway I wasn’t going to play, I’d have said fair enough, you’re a new manager, it’s your decision. You didn’t sign me, fair enough.

"If the manager is treating me like this, [I thought] there is no reason for me to be at Liverpool.”

Hivi MosDef, LFC hamna Director of Sport wa kumsaidia Rodgers kwenye usajili?
Binafsi huwa siwapendi sana hawa madirector maana mara nyingi huishia kugombana na kocha Mkuu lakini the way ambavyo Rodgers amekua akiboronga kwenye usajili anahitaji msaada
And again kwanini Lallana hachezeshwii? Me napenda sana kumuona Lallana uwanjani, akipewa nafasi, jamaa ni wa kiwango cha kina Hazard, Sanchez au Silva

FSG walikuwa wameshaanza Mazungumzo na LVG kuwa DoF pale LFC, hii ni baada ya Comolli kupigwa chini (ye anasema alipigwa chini kwasababu ya poor signings za 2011 akiwemo Henderson)..lakin BR ambaye wakat huo nae ndo alikuwa kwenye mazungumzo na FSG ili aje kuwa Manager (2012) akakataa kabisa suala la LVG kuwa DoF na ilikuwa asi-sign kama FSG wangeendelea na huo mpango..na baada ya kuingia kwenye club akakataa suala la DoF kabisa, na chakushangaza akakubali ishu ya "Transfer Committee" ambapo ye ndo Chairman..
