Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will make his 700th career appearance for the Reds if he is selected for their Premier League game against West Ham. And the 34-year-old midfielder plans to wear special boots with the number stitched into them. He posted a picture of them on his Instagram account with the message: "I will be wearing these in the next match I play in. Appearance number 700 for the Reds!"

I think BR just wants to frustrate the shit out of MB so he probably hands in a transfer, although by now it may be too little too late for that to happen.

For the money that we spent on him he's simply not worthy it. So frustrating....

Adam Lallana replaces Steven Gerrard in the single change to the Liverpool line-up for today's clash with West Ham United – and Daniel Sturridge returns to the squad as a substitute.

Brendan Rodgers has opted for one alteration to the XI that started at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, with the captain not included in the 18 for this Barclays Premier League fixture. Jordan Henderson therefore takes the armband to tackle the Hammers and Gerrard must wait to make his 700th club appearance. Lallana joins Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling in attack. Notably, Sturridge is named on the bench as he approaches a first run-out for the Reds since last August. There are spots for Fabio Borini and Jordon Ibe too.
