Liverpool FC today announced details of the
annual Players' Awards ceremony, which for the
first time is open to fans to see their winners
receiving the awards.
The prestigious event which celebrates the first-
team, Ladies and Academy players as well as
former players and supporters, launched in 2014
and is back this year, bigger and better.
The event will take place on Tuesday May 19 at
the Echo Arena Liverpool and will offer fans the
opportunity to attend alongside Brendan Rodgers,
the first-team squad, Liverpool Ladies, Academy
players and legends to celebrate the club first-
hand.
Ian Ayre, the club's chief executive officer, said:
"Our Players' Awards evening provides us with
the opportunity to look back across the season
and recognise all those involved in this great
club.
"Being able to share this special evening with our
supporters will create a great atmosphere and I'm
sure will be a very special night for everyone."
The accolades, which will be presented at the
event, include Player of the Year awards for the
first team, Ladies and Academy, Young Player of
the Year, Goal of the Year and awards for former
players, LFC staff and supporters.
The evening will also feature a special tribute to
Reds captain Steven Gerrard, who will leave the
club at the end of the season.
As well as having the opportunity to attend the
event, fans will be invited to vote in a number of
categories. Voting for Player of the Year and
Young Player of the Year opens today, with voting
for Goal of the Year and Player Performance of the
Year to open on April 27.
