It was a busy day for First Lady Michelle Obama, who flew to Detroit to speak at a White House youth leadership and mentoring event at Wayne State University (read the speech here) along with Spike Lee, Magic Johnson and Kimberley Locke.

Then, after a quick wardrobe change, she attended a mentoring luncheon at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Katutembelea sisi hapa Detroit kuwapa confidence vijana chipukizi wa shule maana kumekua
mauaji kibao in the past month..hususan watoto wa shule. Kisha kukawa na Documentary moja
kwenye TV iliokua inaua jiji la Detroit.

Kwa hivyo alikuja na kina Magic na Spike Lee na Mkuu wa Sheria ili ku-mentor watoto wa
shule and give them something to look forward to.

Total security mkuu...afu ni mambo na mpaka uwe na tikiti ya kuingia 'High table'.
Tulisimamia mbali lakini it was worth it just to be there.The woman commands a powerful
reaction with her presence. Namtakia mema.

Kwa hivyo sitajisifu sana wala kudanganya kua nilipiga ubavu na 1st lady. Siku yangu
itakuja maana nasuka mualiko wa zile dinner za White House...LOL!!!..Inshallah.

CHICAGO -- President Barack Obama and his family are enjoying their hometown holiday weekend with barbecue Saturday night at a friend's home.

The First Family, led by Obama and his mother-in-law Marian Robinson, left their residence in the Hyde Park neighborhood shortly after 4 p.m. They headed to dinner a few blocks away at the house of Chicago businessman Marty Nesbitt.

Obama was dressed casually in a pair of jeans, sandals and blue, button-down collared shirt. He was joined by wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, who was walking Bo, the family dog.
Also in attendance were Obama's brother-in-law Craig Robinson and his wife.

The Obamas are in Chicago for the Memorial Day weekend. Earlier, Obama played basketball at the University of Chicago Lab School.
