''Big Pharma not in their interest to Cure'' If they Cure you,you quit buying their product
Jeffrey Poehlmann, Writing on health and wellness and a range of related issues. The only conspiracy is by practitioners and sellers of "alternative medicine" to convince people that they are the good guys in a moral war against science. The truth is that "Big Pharma" is a for-profit industry that still is designed to profit off of the best available treatments and, hopefully, the widest range of cures. Whichever company holds the patent on a cure -- and don't buy into that "if it is natural there can be no patent" argument, which is complete nonesense -- that company will make enormous profits. Why? Because a cure will get 100% of the niche business on that illness. And every disease that cannot be wiped out through vaccines will continue to plague a population, so the cure does not necessarily make it go away. And if it is a vaccine, then it needs to be administered to new patients every year. These are all good things for the population, and really good things for "Big Pharma."
As an aside, I've seen internal documents discussing clinical trials for a range of conditions/diseases that have balanced cost vs promise. In EVERY SINGLE CASE, the analysis broke down to the simple notion of whether there was enough evidence to suggest that the drugs could work better than what is already on the market. Every time that promise for improvement was shown, the trials were recommended. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Not once could I find a reference to the cost being the determining factor, nor the potential profit. Yes, those things were evaluated, but this came down to a "which of these comparable treatments should we try first" argument, inevitably based on which one was more likely to be successful from previous lab studies or earlier trials.
We may not have the best system in place with for-profit industries running the lion's share of studies in this regard, but we owe many important advancements in science and health to Big Pharma. (On the other hand, we also have them to thank for artificial sweeteners... But THAT is a whole other story.) source.https://www.quora.com/Does-Big-Pharma-not-want-to-find...#
