SMH You are now even confusing yourself have they agreed to 300mn down payment or not? hahaha Barrick/Accacia should go and file antitrust case at WTO if they feel aggrived..Otherwise, they payup in what ever number of years they jointly agree with JPM.
Its not like there are no international laws to solve this dispute..But it is very telling that Accacia is guilty and would rather have an out of court agreement😂😂😂

Do you think even if WTO ruled in Acacia's favor, they would do anything to the dictator?
Going to the WTO means you are now ready to leave that country. You have completed your business there.

You cannot file an antitrust, (especially against a dictator), and then hope to return to business as usual. You will be harassed on a daily basis.

Acacia may have been guilty of one thing or the other, but if I were to put a number on it, nothing more than $100 million.

Tanzania will never see anything remotely close to what Supremo has brainwashed you to believe.

So there are no consequences of flauting WTO trade dispute rulings?
Is Tanzania an island that does not trade or even buy petroleum?
Or are you admitting that TZ is now so significant internationaly that it can unilaterally oppose WTO?

umeme kwa sasa hautoshi na wengi wanaendelea kuungwa kwenye Rea (rural electification) pia kuna mikoa inatumia diesel ambayo inaendelea kuwa off kadri ya umeme unavyongezeka

It won't be the first time that countries have disregarded world bodies.

Also, Tanzania might decide to obey WTO ruling, and drop their crazy $190 billion fine, but nothing stops the dictator from harassing Acacia afterwards.
Random intimidation, arresting managers, funny environmental regulations, refusing to renew lease.. You can't be creative enough with things to harass them with.

That's why Acacia wouldn't bother with WTO. They know that even after they win there, they will be unwanted in TZ.

For Acacia to pay, it would have to sell itself. Sell itself 100 years from now. Sell its mother. Sell its brothers. Sell its sisters.
And it would still not have enough money to pay 10% of the $190 billion.
