Omani-Tanzanian Business Forum

The President met businessmen and women from both countries on the sidelines of the Omani-Tanzania Business Forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation and increase trade exchange between both the countries.



In her speech during the forum, the Tanzanian President thanked the Sultanate of Oman for supporting the United Republic of Tanzania over the past decades, and stresses the determination of the two countries to strengthen economic relations based on the deep-rooted historical relations.

Additionally, an investment fund will be established between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania.

His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign told ONA that the establishment of an investment fund between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania had been finalised and will be concerned with investment in several sectors, including agriculture, fishing and mining.

Sultanate of Oman & United Republic of Tanzania sign six MoUs


The Sultanate and Tanzania signed six memorandum of understandings (MoU) within the framework of the official visit of the Tanzanian President, covering the fields of energy, tourism, natural resources, higher education and training, and national museums.



And a tripartite memorandum between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Tanzania and the Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce, and a memorandum between the Investment Authority and the Investment Promotion Authority was signed during the President’s visit.

They also signed memoranda of understanding for the private sector between the Oman Airports Management Company and Kilimanjaro International Airport, and between the Oman Oil Services Association and the Tanzania Association of Oil and Gas Service Providers and between Al-Bashaer Meat and the National Meat Company for Live Animals, and between the Oman Food Investment Holding Company and the Tanzanian Horticultural Society.
