Good morning. Thank you for your article on democracy in Kenya, congratulations for writing the article and for your courage to stand out and be counted. I support you 100%. Kenya was not ready for the so called democracy, as, being Africans we were bound to abuse it from the word go. The 25% law was passed hurriedly to ensure that those with large communities were evicted come election time in order to deny a candidate from their community the 25%.
Democracy in Kenya has made some to believe, that it gives them the right to rubbish and disrespect constitutionally established institutions. Take for instance what happened to the electoral commission and now the way IEBC is being rubbished. Why can't we learn to respect institutions? The supreme court is also being disrespected, because even before it's ruling, let alone filing the petition, some are already sending their cronies countrywide, to propagate propaganda that the election was stolen. Who made them the Judge? Then they are behaving like they already know the outcome of the ruling by asking the other party to accept the outcome of the court's verdict.
You are doing a PHD, why not write a thesis on the mess that is democracy in Kenya?
