Rais Ruto aagiza Wizara ya Mawasiliano kuandaa Sheria itakayowezesha Ushindani wa Kidigitali

Rais William Ruto ametoa maagizo hayo na kueleza Serikali yake imeweka nia ya kutengeneza mazingira yenye Ushindani ikiwemo kuongeza ushawishi kwa Makampuni ya Teknolojia kwaajili ya kuwekeza zaidi Nchini humo.

Kauli ya Ruto inakuja siku chache tangu aanze ziara ya siku 10 katika Mataifa ya Marekani na Uingereza ambako amefanya mazungumzo na baadhi ya Kampuni za Kiteknojia zikiwemo Starlink, Apple, Intel, Google, na Microsoft.

Kupitia ziara hiyo, Bosi wa Apple, Tim Cook aliahidi kuwa kampuni hiyo itaanza maandalizi ya kuwekeza katika Chuo cha Wanasidi Programu (Developers) huku Bosi wa Microsoft, Brad Smith akiielezea Kenya kuwa kivutio cha Uwekezaji mkubwa wa Makampuni ya Kimarekani.

President William Ruto has directed the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Ministry to develop an Artificial Intelligence legislation that will provide an enabling environment for digital competitiveness.

The head of state indicated that this will go a long way in boosting the country’s economy.

“It is well-established that economies where research and development are a policy priority tend to stay competitive over time, because the future is full of possibilities for them. Our Digital Master Plan is intended to fulfil this role by enhancing our ability to confront an uncertain future with confidence,” he said.

He stated that because of our commitment to create an enabling environment for digital competitiveness, Kenya has attracted many technology companies, including the global Big Tech, which have found a promising ecosystem from which to launch transformational endeavors.
