Note: Healthy Forex reserves are not determined by the amount of money in reserve, but rather the number of months the reserve can sustain the import bill. Quoting 500bn is useless if it can only sustain 3 month import bill. Tanzania has 7 month worth of reserves, they wount require the IMF facility for a long time to come

1. Kenya is the only country in sub sahara that has qualified for an IMF standby credit facility... No other country in south of the sahara has access to such kind of credit..

2. Kenyas forex reserve of $8.9B is equivalent of 5.92 months of import cover while Tanzania reserve of $5.9B is equivalent of 5.1months import cover...
This is withstanding the fact that Tz has a trade surplus yet reseves are still lower than Kenyas and Kenyas economy has not been performing so well in 2017.... what do you think the situation will be now that the economy is recovering... Tz has got nothing on Kenya!
