Why worry if he had been there for 40 years? He has to attend some functions and meet the grand children. Will definately be back when he has finished this.
Huyu Rais Peter Mutharika alikuwa raia wa Marekani kwa miaka mingi, kaishi huko muda mwingi wa maisha yake.
Alirudi tu Malawi baada ya Kaka yake Bingu Wa Mutharika kuwa Rais akiwa msaidizi wake wa karibu, na aliukana uraia wa Marekani miaka michache iliyopita ili awe na sifa ya kugombea urais Malawi.

Leader of Opposition in parliament Lazarus Chakwera has said the government should be open and transparent on President Peter Mutharika’s prolonged stay in the US.
“This is where the Access to Information law is needed. Malawians would have known where exactly the President is and what he is doing,” said Chakwera, who is also president of the main opposition, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
The government has been secretive on the whereabouts of Mutharika after he attended the UN general assembly which run from September 19 to 23.

State House spokesperson Mgeme Kalirani said Mutharika is still working in the US and could not say what type of job he is doing nor when he is expected to come back home.
Estimates show he is blowing K5 million each day he stays abroad amid IMF projections that the economy is likely to collapse completely because of uncontrolled expenditure in government.
