POST MATCH ANALYSIS

A good win for Real Madrid which secures the top 16 spot for Real Madrid. I won't call it a very good win due to the high standards they have set for us but it wasn't a bad one either,RMD was strong defensively especially in the midfield and didn't let them go through easily or you can say Liverpool just wanted to sit back throughout the match and concede as less goals as possible because it might come to the GD at the end for them.

DEFENSE:

Real Madrid's defense didn't get tested too much tonight and Ramos as well as Varane were too good for Liverpool's forwards. Ramos was unlucky to get a yellow card for a great tackle. Marcelo was GREAT today as usual,he assisted the only goal of the match.The only player whose performance wasn't good enough was Arbeloa,he is aging and can provide a cover for Carvajal but TBH he is no more a player of Madrid's class n quality,he slows our attacks down n can't provide good crosses either,i would rather have Nacho given a chance. Due to him most of our play from the flanks was from the LHS n not the right until Bale came on.No hard feelings,I love Arbeloa but its the truth.

MIDFIELD:

Modric was the man tonight in the midfield.He was seen everywhere on the pitch and made himself available whenever he could to receive a pass.He is getting comfortable with Kross now.James and Isco were good and won the ball several times in the midfield. The thing I like about the new Real Madrid is that all four of Real's midfield players are superb ball players and can play themselves out of trouble any day.

ATTACK:

Benzema and Ronaldo were good tonight,Benzema finished a superb cross from Marcelo and Ronaldo kept on trying to find his goal but was unlucky and didn't find enough space to shoot it in since Liverpool defence was really compact n they closed down spaces ASAP. Bale was unlucky to hit the post after coming on from the bench.

A win is all that matters and RMD is now in a very strong position to go into Round of 16 as group leaders..​
