Sami Khedira may extend contract with Real Madrid

Sami Khedira has no plans to leave Real Madrid in January and says his agent is still in talks with the club over a new deal.

Khedira, 27, is only under contract with the European champions until the end of the season, and so has been linked with a move away in the winter transfer window.

"As of now, I see no reason to leave the club in the winter," he said. "Real Madrid are a great destination, and I have locked this club in my heart. There is no grounds for me to say that I want or that I have to leave."

"I said back then that I am averse to signing a new contract, but my agent is still in talks with the club," he said. "We are top of the league in Spain, lead our Champions League group, and can win the FIFA Club World Cup. A lot of great challenges are waiting for me at Real. Moreover, I rate the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] highly because of his knowledge and his way of handling things. He gives me the feeling that I am needed."

Mesut Özil fell out with father for pushing him to join Arsenal, misses Real Madrid terribly [MARCA]

Mesut Ozil never wanted to join Arsenal, and is nostalgic for Real Madrid, MARCA claim in an in-depth piece on the German World Cup winner.

MARCA take most of their info from the story published in Bild yesterday, and add their own touch to the situation.

Bild reported that Ozil never actually wanted to leave Madrid, where he was loved by both players and fans alike, and that he ended up joining Arsenal in whirlwind without even realizing what he was doing.

They say his father Mustapha pushed him to leave and join Arsenal for financial reasons; with Mustafa acting as his agent at the time, Ozil Senior is believed to have earned 8 million euros in commission on the 50 million euro deal.

A month after his move to Arsenal, they report Ozil decided to cut off professional ties with his father, ddisillusionedwith how he had managed his career to that point, and Mesut put his brother Mutlu in charge of his affairs.

MARCA say that from that point on, Ozil and Mustafa's relationship has gradually deteriorated to the point that the relationship between son and father is essentially broken at this stage.

Marca claim that those close to Ozil say ‘not a day passes that he doesn't miss Real Madrid', and is looking at what the European champions are achieving right now and wondering, ‘what if'…

Some incredible revelations on Ozil, whose suffered a stop-start second season at Arsenal through injury, and looked way off his best even before the injury problems.

The Colombian has scored each of his so far four La Liga goals away from home.

James Rodríguez is one of the sensations of Real Madrid's 2014/15 team. The midfielder, who has earned Ancelotti's confidence with his hard work and his goals, has so far scored four times in La Liga.

James opened his La Liga account on matchday 4 at Riazor, firing an angled left-footed shot into the top corner. A fantastic goal. On matchday 8, he made his mark at the Ciudad de Valencia after a great off-the-ball run in behind the Levante defence. And, finally, he notched his first brace in a Madrid shirt in Granada.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper has picked up a total of 32 victories during qualifying and the final stages.

Iker Casillas now has more wins to his name in European Championship matches than any other player. The Spain captain claimed the record - for which games in qualifying and at the tournament proper are taken into account - in his country's 3-0 triumph over Belarus in Saturday's Euro 2016 qualification clash. The Madrid goalkeeper overtakes Thuram, with whom he had been level on 31 wins.
