They comprise five of the 20 defenders who are contenders to make the ideal eleven, which is chosen by footballers from all around the world.
The Real Madrid players Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Varane and Marcelo have been chosen among the 20 defenders who are candidates to take their place in the FIFA FIFPro World XI 2014. The names of the winning contenders will be revealed on 12 January 2015 at the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala in Zurich (Switzerland).

FIFPro, the World Players' Union, and FIFA have today announced the identities of the defenders shortlisted for their World XI, as part of a shortlist of 55 footballers that will be revealed on 1 December 2014. The nominations received by Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Varane and Marcelo join that of Casillas, who is one of the five candidate goalkeepers.

Female pitch invader struggles to control her emotions when meeting Cristiano Ronaldo
(The fan managed to sneak onto the pitch and meet her idol - but couldn't control her emotions)

Pitch invaders are enigmas.
They each have their own motive to run onto the pitch. Sometimes it's for attention, other times it's to send a message but most of the time it's because they want to get up, close and personal with their idol.
Take last night's Champions League game between Basel and Real Madrid in Switzerland.
TWO pitch invaders managed to worm their way onto the pitch, although the most notable invasion was from a female fan who starting crying when she met her hero, Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is not compulsory to love one with criticizing or hating the other.

I'm going to explain Messi-Ronaldo rivalry in simple words. Imagine one student getting first position with 70%, he would be considered as the brightest student. Now imagine another case where the competition is so high that the student with 96% is getting the 2nd position because the student with first position got 97%, the second one would be criticized.

Now I'm going to explain how I related it to that case, players with almost 20 goals won the golden boot for their leagues before. I can remember Anelka winning the golden boot with just 18 goals and Ronaldo lost the Golden boot with 46 goals because Messi scored 50 and people were criticizing Cristiano.

Ronaldo was the first player to score against every la liga team, no one was able to to do that before him but Messi scored against all la liga teams in a row.

No one before Leo was able to score 14 goals in a single UCL tournament but Ronaldo scored 17 last year.

No player has scored 9 goals in UCL group stage except Ronaldo but now Messi needs only 2 in his next match to equal that record.

They are the only players with 3 Golden boots.When Messi won, Ronaldo was the runner up, when Ronaldo won, Messi was the runner-up.

There are many cases like this, the point is that both are doing exceptionally well and they are better than everyone.
Compare their stats/records with the past players who were considered as legends at their time then you would realize how great they are.​

In view of the declarations made by the president of UEFA, Michel Platini, concerning the winner of the Ballon d'Or, Real Madrid C. F. would like to outline:

Firstly, its surprise at the repeated declarations regarding his personal preferences over the choice of the winner of the Ballon d'Or, particularly given that he is the head of European football's principal body, where our understanding is that the strictest impartiality should prevail.

Secondly, the Ballon d'Or is an individual rather than collective prize which is awarded annually to the best player in the world, and we believe that, in order to maintain its prestige, those who participate in the vote should take into account exclusively the individual professional achievements of the players.

Finally, we believe that Cristiano Ronaldo has without doubt had his best ever professional year individually, and has claimed the Champions League, the Golden Shoe and the record for the highest goalscorer in an edition of the Champions League, as well as the Copa del Rey and the top-scorer award in La Liga. In the current season, he has won the European Super Cup, scoring both goals in the match, and is achieving spectacular figures such as his 20 goals in the first 12 matchdays of La Liga, which confirm his great moment of form and ensure that, more than ever, he is deserving of the Ballon d'O

Real Madrid face their thirteenth game of the La Liga season at La Rosaleda.
Carlo Ancelotti has named 20 players in his squad for Real Madrid's La Liga matchday 13 match against Málaga at La Rosaleda (Saturday, 8pm CET).

REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Keylor Navas and Pacheco.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrão, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Nacho.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Illarra, Isco and M. Llorente.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Chicharito.

NEXT TRAINING SESSION:
