So the assembly of Israel departed by tribes and families, and they returned to their own homes.----

Obviously these women were repeatedly raped.- These sick evil people killed and raped an entire town and then wanted more virgins, so they hid beside the road to kidnap and rape some more.-

What you don't understand about the bible is that is the word of God, but also depicts human actions - their belief systems, customs and norms - and the word of God is intended to purify and change whatever is wrong and turn it into virtues. What you don't understand also is that, whatever is recorded in the bible has a theological lesson. The bible is not a history book, it's meant to make believers understand matters of faith. For instance, the creation of the universe depicts God as molding the earth/mud and making a human being and then breathing into it and then the human being becomes alive. Yet, we know that, whatever God willed it instantly became. "Mungu akasema uwe mwanga na ukawa..." Kwa hiyo, since you are lost in the morphology of the wording, you cannot grasp the message. It's like when reading this metaphor 'the camel is the ship of the desert' - is it meant to be understood that the camel is the ship to the extent that, the desert is the sea or ocean or does it mean that as the camel frequents desert trips so does the ship in the sea or ocean?
