SGR Construction in Tanzania - UPDATES

I can comfotaby say 70-80% of the materials used to build the sgr were transported by the sgr itself

Some of the temporary rail was even assembled on the field

Transporting Material by temporary Rail Does not make it cheaper or faster than using trucks and old Railway, it only makes it more expensive. Making the railway more expensive by doing silly things like this must have been a goal in itself

From the look of things "Chinoirs" built a railway n forgot to put a bridge n after rains they discovered a bridge is needed n resorted into dismantling the already built railway to make a way for a bridge! I can assure u no proper tophological mapping was done during the design part. Keep posting them n we will tell u a story behind every foto.

😀😀😀😀😀😀 thread yenyewe ni SGR Tanzagiza lakini picha nyingi tena za kwaminika ni za SGR Kenya.

Tatizo lako ni ushamba nothing special here it will be a surprise a constructor to use any means of transport to transport sleepers whire construction progresses as in the same direction as flow of materials. I am pretty sure only things like quarries can come different i.e. with trucks before being transffered to wagons depending on the location of material source as usually r a bit further from the construction sites. Wacha ujinga!

What we highlighted is that particular rail that drainage was being done the specifieday chinese parameters were no where to be seen.
Wachana na sleepers, Tz hamafika huko, when you et their we can revisit. Remember you said in your railway you said rail sleepers will be the second ast thin before overhead electricity.. and you said thats how its done like its the only way to do it. I have ust shown you there is a whole other way to do it.. And about location of material, campsites are aways located at strategic paces that should be able to et to the site!

Imagine how they wi aways be bogged down when it rains because trucks wil have to o through the bush to et to the rail, what about the damage to the road. What about the traffic ams that will affect other road users everyday until the proect is complete..What about the environmental footprint of 500 trucks going back and forth......
It might not be expensive to Yepi, but sure as he will be costly for everybody else. Every-time their is an accident on the road, the proect will suffer downtime... Yepi has already announced that hey are 5% behind schedule, tis will probaby keep increasing especialy during rainy seasons.

For about a year, when kenyans were yapping that Tz have not build even 1 meter of rail, Yepi markez were mobilizing materials and equipment on site by road and old Railway.
To build a temporary railway, you still need to mobilize material with trucks and etc, so there is no cost advantage at all, its just a neat way to make the price tag expensive. And to make matters worse, the rail laying equipment was moved with road, I remember seeing huge locomotives being hauled on trucks..Neat way to even push the cost even higher

hahahah funny........ but THere is no bridge, thats a culvate, and they have to protect it...
If yuo had done a simple reverse image search, you would have found out that the pic was uploaded 8 months after construction had begun, how long has it been since you started your construction is it one year 3 months or 4 months

The recent rains destructed ur already finished railway n not ours that is underconstruction! Mind u design has been carried out by COWI!

Weka picha ya hizo materials zenu basi..... Materials were brought to campsite which are next to the road, then from there transported in bulk to the fied which reduces time wasted. And also safety of materials from thieves and also from bieng washed away by heavy rains, wind etc
kelele nyingi, 5% behind schedule na bado kazi yenyewe , hehe, by the time mnamaliza mtakua 1 year beyond schedule.....

Go look for the very first videos of Tz Sgr when they were building camp sites. And note that Yapi Makezi are professionals, they secure campsites and materials from thieves and Weather damage

ofcourse campsites have to b protected..... You said "For about a year,Yepi markez were mobilizing materials and equipment on site by road and old Railway."

THis is what I was referring to, mobilising materials on site means you leave it in the wilderness where the rail will eventually pass, and to do that for a year!!!! thats alot of risk.

whereas for the kenyan side material was mobilised and kept in secure campsite, from the campsite to the rai site is where it was transported by rail in bulk when needed... which meant materia avaiabiity was there 100%

Camp sites are not material sites, they are points that serve material depots along the route
