LIVE Special Thread: Yanayojiri Mgogoro wa Ukraine na Urusi. Nini chanzo na hatma ya mzozo?

Live coverage on JamiiForums

As Ukrainian troops march into Russia, occupying territory and capturing towns, the reality of Putin's war can no longer be hidden behind the facade of a "Special Military Operation.”
August 2024: Month When the War Reached Russia's Doorstep.
On August 7, 2024, Ukrainian troops launched a full-scale incursion into Russia, occupying 350 square kilometres of territory in Kursk region, including the town of Sudzha. Russian forces were unprepared, with conscripts and territorial defense bearing the brunt of the attack. Civilians and troops have been killed, and soldiers taken prisoner.
From the start, it was clear this was a full-scale war, not a "Special Military Operation" as Putin claimed. Lies cannot be a stable foundation for anything.
The incursion was possible because no one prepared for the possibility of a Ukrainian offensive into Russia. Putin's generals believed their own untruths. Conscripts, who should not be in combat, have been killed and captured. Kadyrov's "TikTok warriors" fled in the face of a real enemy. Putin downplays the incursion as a "provocation," appointing a civilian to coordinate aid, as if discussing a routine weather event. But this is unprecedented. It would be untrue to say that the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk region has brought war to Russia for the first time. The war really came to Russia on February 24, 2022 - when the first coffins of Russian soldiers killed in Putin's pointless invasion started arriving back in the country. Since then, there have been Ukrainian sabotage raids into Belgorod and Bryansk regions. Drones have struck targets deep inside Russia, even reaching as far as Moscow. Oil depots, military bases and other infrastructure have been set ablaze on an almost daily basis. Nonetheless, the scale and nature of what we see unfolding right now is unprecedented. August 2024 is when full-blown military clashes between the armed forces of two countries came directly to Russian territory. Putin's initial goal of "liberating" Ukraine has shifted now to simply reaching Russia's own state borders. Despite leadership changes in the Defense Ministry, the situation remains the same: lies, contradictions, and abandonment of civilians and soldiers.
This war is criminal and must be stopped. It serves no purpose but to maintain a dictator's power at the cost of countless lives on both sides.
I talk about recent developments in this new video [eng subs available]:

Unajua ikoje ndugu yangu?
