Russian forces clear some seven hectares of forest near Kremennaya of Ukrainian troops

Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov announced on Monday that 99.3% of the LPR territory had been liberated

LUGANSK, December 17. /TASS/. Russian forces have expanded their patrol zone near the city of Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in the past few days, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

"Our forces taking part in active military operations have managed to wipe out the front lines of Ukrainian militants and expand their own patrol zone southwest of Kremennaya. Over the past few days, some seven hectares of the Kremennaya Forest have been cleared of fighters. Up to a squadron of enemy troops were killed or wounded and over ten armored vehicles were destroyed," he specified.

Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov announced on Monday that 99.3% of the LPR territory had been liberated.

Marochko told TASS on December 3 that Russian troops had to drive Ukrainian forces out of five more settlements in order to take full control of the region. According to the military expert, the five settlements that remain to be liberated are Nadiya, Novoyegorovka, and Petrovskoye in the Svatovsky District, Novolyubovka in the Kremenskoy District, and Belogorovka in the Lisichansky District.

Ukraine's losses, compensations to residents: situation in Russia's Kursk Region

Over the period of fighting in the Kursk frontline area, the Ukrainian army has lost over 41,400 troops, 242 tanks, 182 infantry fighting vehicles, 126 armored personnel carriers and 1,276 armored combat vehicles


MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have lost up to 540 servicemen in the Kursk area over the past day, with the total number of enemy losses since the fighting began in the region amounting to more than 41,400 troops, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Over 4,300 displaced residents of Russia’s Kursk Region have received compensation for rent for a total amount of more than 145 million rubles ($1,396), Andrey Belostotsky, the region's acting deputy governor, said.

Drafting 14-year-olds won't help Kiev, Putin asserts

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The situation on the battlefield will not change even if Ukraine lowers the country’s call-up age to 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"I think that lowering the mobilization age to 18 would already be a crime. Reducing it to 14, as was done in Nazi Germany with the creation of the Hitler Youth, would be an atrocity. Everybody understands this," he said after a Russian defense ministry board meeting.

He said that he has no doubt that the draft age in Ukraine will ultimately be lowered. "And they will send young boys for slaughter. Just as they are now doing when they catch men in the streets, like stray dogs, to send them to the battlefield to face the bullets via involuntary mobilization, they will do the same with these young boys," he noted.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The United States is encouraging the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine by sending mercenaries and military advisers there, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.
"In their effort to weaken our country and deliver a strategic defeat, the US continues to supply the regime in Kiev that is in fact illegitimate with weapons and money, while sending mercenaries and military advisers, thereby encouraging further escalation of the conflict," Putin said at an expanded meeting of the of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry.
 
Russian Forces Advance in DPR, Liberate Yelizavetovka and Repel Counterattacks

Russian armed forces continue their offensive operations in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), according to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Troops of the Yug battlegroup have captured the settlement of Yelizavetovka in the Donetsk People's Republic.
"As a result of decisive actions, the settlement of Yelizavetovka has been liberated," the ministry stated.
The battlegroup also:
Eliminated up to 345 Ukrainian troops
Destroyed two MaxxPro armored vehicles, a Paladin self-propelled howitzer, a D-20 gun and a D-30 howitzer
Eliminated an ammo depot, an Enclave-N electronic warfare station and a US-made AN/TPQ-50 radar
Targeted six Ukrainian brigades near Seversk, Belogorovka and other locations in the DPR
The Vostok Battlegroup continued advancing into the Ukrainian defenses, targeting two mechanized brigades and a territorial defense brigade near the settlements of Razliv, Zelenoye Pole and Vremevka in the DPR. The battlegroup’s forces also repelled three counterattacks by Ukrainian assault groups.
Reported Ukrainian losses over the past day included:
Up to 185 personnel
A German-made Leopard tank
One infantry fighting vehicle
Two armored fighting vehicles
Four motor vehicles
A US-made M777 155mm howitzer
A Bogdana 155mm self-propelled howitzer
A Gvozdika 122mm self-propelled howitzer
The Tsentr Battlegroup also achieved more advantageous positions, striking personnel and equipment from seven Ukrainian brigades and two assault battalions near the settlements of Shevchenko, Shcherbinovka, Novoolenovka, Novopustynka, Petrovka and Dzerzhinsk in the DPR.
According to the ministry, nine counterattacks by Ukrainian forces were repelled. Ukrainian losses included:
Over 440 personnel
Three armored fighting vehicles
One Msta-B 152mm howitzer
Three D-20 152mm guns
Three D-30 122mm howitzers
A Nota electronic warfare station
