The EU will not be able to find a complete replacement for gas from Russia, says the head of the French energy company Engie.
“The resources we currently have are limited. They are not enough to replace all the gas that we now receive from Russia,” Catherine MacGregor said in an interview with Les Echos.
About 40% of the gas used in the EU is Russian, she noted. And in some countries the dependence is 100%.
“Cutting off supplies would have severe and very quick consequences,” McGregor said.
