Ukrainian air defense shot down 20 of the 22 Shahed-type attack drones launched by Russia overnight on July 26, the Air Force reported.
Ukraine's Air Force was not able to down the other aerial target, a single Iskander-M ballistic missile, launched overnight. The impacts of the missile launch are currently unclear.

At a working meeting of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov on the issue of further development of the enterprise, held yesterday at the Arsenal plant, the production of at least four AK-176MA-01 naval artillery mounts was recorded in the footage.
Judging by the white color, they are intended for the border patrol ships of projects 23550 and 10410 under construction for the Coast Guard.

The European Commission today wrote a letter to Hungary demanding the country immediately pay the €200 million fine imposed by the EU Court of Justice in June for violating EU refugee rules. An additional 1 million euros will be added to the fines for each day that Hungary does not change its laws to comply with EU refugee law. If Hungary refuses to pay within 60 days, the EU will begin collecting money with interest from Hungarian EU aid funds.

Britain has three years to prepare for potential conflict, according to the new commander of the Kingdom's armed forces, General Roland Walker.
“One of the main threats the UK will face in the coming years will be an angry Russia, which could seek revenge on the West for supporting Ukraine, regardless of who wins the war,” the BBC quotes the general as saying. Walker believes that Putin will be “very, very dangerous” when he emerges from the war in Ukraine and will certainly “want retribution.”
“The thing is, if you think they've gone downhill, they'll come roaring back with a vengeance. We have ample time to prepare, act, and ensure the restoration of a credible ground force to support the deterrence strategy,” Walker notes.
While Walker emphasized that war is not necessarily inevitable, he described the current state of Britain's armed forces as "devastated" and stressed that "wasteful procurement and neglect of morale cannot continue."
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of the German Armed Forces, Carsten Breuer, provided a slightly different timeline, suggesting that Russia might be ready to attack NATO territory in 5-8 years. Breuer anticipates that in this period, Russia will renew and assemble sufficient personnel and weaponly
